My dad is drivng me crazy. I want to go back to L.A.

Damn, I've only been around for a few days and I have to go MIA again!  I got a flight tonight to Cleveland to see my dad and step-mom, so I'll be gone until the 29th.  It'll probably mostly work and chores, because that's what parents do when you visit no matter your age.

I'll try to log on once or twice while I'm there to check in and let yo know if anything interesting happens while I'm there.  Ha- right.  It's Cleveland, Ohio.  Not much really interesting happens there. Not since the Cuyahoga River caught fire back in the 70's.  Yes, the river caught fire.  Cleveland used to be REALLY polluted.  it's no wonder way it was the butt of endless jokes.  Kinda still is.

Probably get my hair cut while there.  Try to see a movie to take a break from the 'rents.  Wow.  Seriously not that interesting, is it?  Well, I've got some shows to go to when I get back to L.A. in early July, so I'm looking forward to that. 

I know I'll have a TON to catch up on again when I get back.  I'll be outta here in about an hour.  Everyone have a wonderful weekend and week!

I just found out that Stan Winston died!!  That sucks!  He was the greatest film special effects guy ever!  Wow.

Holy crap, I hate not being on here for a whole week!  I miss so much!  There's just so much to catch up on.  I'm going to be trying to be on as much as possible in the next few days, because Friday night, I'm off AGAIN for another week!  Yeah, I have to go to Cleveland, Ohio to see my dad and step-mom.  She's having some minor surgery and wants someone around with my dad.  He sure doesn't think he needs anyone around, but that's a retired doctor for ya. 

So, I'll be given a million tasks to do while I'm there.  It won't really be much of a vacation, per se.  I'll probably need a vacation from the vacation.  Ack.

So I'm trying to catch up on all my comments and such.  I'll get to yo soon, I hope, if you had a new set go up this past week.  I really do miss hanging out here.  There are so many lovely people.  I hope you all know that.

Ok, just a quick (and shitty) cellphone pic.  This is from my friend's TV room.  Their daughter does this weird thing where she has to lay out her dolls on the floor and then puts them to sleep by covering them in blankets.  But she covers their heads, too.  My friend and his wife call it "The Doll Morgue".  They don't know why she covers their heads.  It's a little strange, yet wonderfully macabre.  It really does look like a morgue.  : )



She had just picked up one the dolls.  There were at least five there on the floor.  I just find it funny; strange AND 'ha-ha'.

So I'm off work for a week starting tomorrow.  I'm going to be making some calls and hopefully getting broadband at home while I'm away, but if doesn't get set up by the end of next week, it could be a while before I'm here again. 

So just in case, you should all have a wonderful week!  I say so!  : )

Everyone take care of yourselves and each other.  Barbeque birthday gathering Saturday evening, but the night holds many possibilities.  Who knows where I'll end up?  : )

Ok, second time posting this. I the site keeps logging me out today. How irritating. I think I forgot some of what I posted before. Grr.

First, thanks to all the get well wishes. I hate colds but I'm feeling much better now. And last night I went to see the movie, "The Strangers" and I liked it!  Good scary fun!

So on my trip to Arizona Memorial Day weekend, I stopped once or twice for over-priced gas. Some of those stops along the way have shops full of strange knick knacks for tourists to buy. Such as this choice item proudly displayed int he front window:



Sorry for the low res, but I think you can see it says, "Paint your own Weiner!" I'm not sure how people will interpret this, but I think it's promoting Art! How can you argue with that kind of top-notch marketing?

Dammit.  I got a cold.  I hate colds.  I haven't had one in well over a year.  Now I can't breathe and DayQuil doesn't work for shit.  And I can't taste anything, which is probably the worst part!  Boooo-urns!

Just came back from Little Tokyo for a late lunch.  I was coerced into buying Pocky, the Japanese chocolate covered biscuit treats.

Wow, Pocky is good!

But why must it sound like a disease?
