Shriekfest, Day one 10/04/08 01:28 am pst
Listening to:
So I checked out some Shriekfest tonight. There was a 5 minute short film called, "Eel Girl" that was great. It was made by tthe people at WETA, whom you'll remember was the effects team that did the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Then the feature was "Ray Bradbury's Chrysalis". This was a low-budget film based on the Bradbury short story. It was actualyl pretty interesting and pretty good, with a few minor exceptions.
Tomorrow starts at noon with a series of shorts until about 1:30 pm, then the Lovecraft documentary, which it turns out is made by a guy I actually know. Small world. then there are possibly two features I want to see, but that will depend on how much tiime I want to sit in a screening room.
Sunday, shorts from noon to 3 pm, then between 5-8 pm there are a couple of features I may chaeck out. Then the awards at 10:30, then off to Boardner's in Hollywood for the after party. In fact, I may be at Boardner's tomorrow night, too. That's where the all the folks are going after the screenings.
I'll be picking the shorts I like to try to pick up for viewing/distribution on the website. There's already a couple I think are gonna be great.
So, a busy weekend of horror and sci-fi for me! Yay!
Cheers, all!
