Here are a couple of more shots from my trip to Central Oregon a few weeks back.
This first shot is a road up in the hills above The Dalles. One of our biggest challenges was finding spots to pull over and shoot -- much of the road had no shoulder and the land was mainly fenced off. This was one of the small shoulders we found that had room for us.
I like the way the shoulder enters into the curve of the road, there's a sense of movement in the image to me. And I really love clouds, as you probably know if you follow my work :)

As we were heading back to Portland we saw some amazing clouds over the Columbia River. We had trouble again finding a spot to pull over along the road, but finally found a place called Dalton Point where we were able to get down to the shore of the river.
I shot a few rolls of film there. It was so pretty, with the water and the fading light. There were also some amazing low hanging clouds over the hills, you can see some of them in the middle left part of the frame. That's what really prompted us to want to pull the car over, although by the time we were able to find this spot the low hanging ones were a lot more sparse.

Thanks :)
It's not digital, those are shot on medium format film. I didn't develop the film myself, I usually send it to a lab.

Always love your work. But you already know that :)
I saw on twitter that you mentioned you don't feel you have enough of one subject to produce a book out of, but maybe you could bind one up focusing on yoru landscapes that have such gorgeous clouds in them. They seem to be a recurring theme in your work and you always capture them gorgeously! Just a lil though :P

I love you. But you already know that :)
That's an excellent thought. What I'm mainly working on is getting some projects ready for galleries. Generally for that sort of thing they want images with a consistent look, so I probably wouldn't want to mix together my Holga shots with the more high res stuff from my Hasselblad, for example.
If I did a book I could mix them together however I want, of course, but I probably will want to do books that correspond with the gallery projects. That way the book itself is a marketing tool for the body of work. I'm not in a hurry to sell anything right now. I'm more in the mode of trying to define and fill out the projects I'm working on. My hope is to get some things closer to finished in the next year or two, and then try to market them to galleries.
But you're right, the clouds are a definite recurring theme with me. I find myself looking up in the sky even when I don't have a camera handy :)
I got a few great shots of clouds with my Holga a while back, and I'm considering maybe trying to get a whole project/show of those images. I probably have 4-5 that I think are very strong now. I'd need 20+ before I talk to galleries, and probably even more for a book. It could take a while, Luckily we get a lot of great clouds here :)
I really appreciate the feedback. It means a lot that you're interested enough to make a suggestion like that. You've been very sweet and supportive, it makes me smile.

Wow, I really like the second image. Do you develop these yourself? or is it digital?
