Jury Duty Part II

So there were four other Women and myself that served for the jury on two cases in a row the ratio of men to women was eight women to four men.  This time the state/county was trying to convict this black guy of aiding/abetting a white guy  who was convicted of selling 200 MD MA Tabs to a undercover Cop.  But the only Evidence they could provide was that the black guy was there and had a four word conversation with the white guy.  They had Video but it did not show the drugs ever being in the black guys hands or any money changing hands. there was another black guy with the first black guy who was the supplier and already convicted and had all the marked bills in his possession at the time of arrest.  We knew the first black guy was guilty of something and knew more than he said but the charges the state leveled against him could not be prov-en with the little conclusive evidence the state gave us.  Sorry if anyone found the use of black guy, white guy offensive it was done to keep the story simple!!

So I had Jury duty and I got selected to serve on a Jury for a Criminal case this guy took  three Hydrocodone and between one to three Prescription Sleeping Pills while behind the Wheel.  Oh by the way he was also driving after Rev. so the guy was so out of it that he was using all three lanes and the shoulder on the freeway for 7-8 miles there were three cell phone calls to 911 before the cops caught up with him and he had no clue the cops were behind him with the lights on.  His Defense Lawyer put him on the stand and other than trying for sympathy he was a terrible Wittiness but he lay ed it on thick he said he had only slept 3-4 hours the night before, his Grandmother was in a Hos pis, His wife was recovering  from lung cancer,  he had chronic back pain, he was coming back from a AA meeting at which he revealed he had been physically and sexually abused as a child and things weren't going well at work.

So we had another safe and successful Deer hunt  most of us filled our tags.  I shot a bigger Doe there were lots of Brain Cells Killed in the process. We also had a couple of First Time Hunters who were successful, One of them is Leagley Blind His Father Stands Behind Him and the Gun is on a Tripod He Aims and then Tells Him when to Shoot He was really pumped to get his first deer.   Now the tough part is getting back to reality, and Work.

So I am Leaving Tomorrow for my annual 10 day Deer hunt,  Pounding through the woods for about 2 weeks. Good times with a great bunch of guys kind of a Male bonding type of thing A lot of beer drinking, Farting, Meat Eating,Poor House Keeping Habits, And no Internet.  All and all a good time.  It is cool though being in the woods You aren't going to die out there but if you don't use your compass you will be walking for several days before you find a road.. We haven't lost anyone yet..  I Guess the good thing when I get back will be that I will have 2 weeks of sets to Catch Up On..

So I went from averaging 60+ hours a week  to about 30 hours every three weeks.  It was OK for like the first week or so but now I am bored and broke.  I have all the time to do all kinds of shit but no funds with which to do it with.

Going up to Hunting shack this weekend to do Scouting for Hunting in November.   So lots of hiking through the Woods, looking for deer sign.  And one of our neighbor's happens to be a Bar The Woman who runs the joint is really cool, and she always manages to get me really hammered with her different creative Drinks. But it works well I can literally just about crawl home from there.

POST-OP EYEBALLS

Haven't  entered anything in awhile the computer puts a little to much strain an the eyes. So right after the eye surgery I felt a little like a vampire I had major blood clots in both eyes "should have taken pics" and I was so light sensitive that it was a completely overcast evening and I still had to draw all the drapes.  The very next day after surgery my right eye was 20/20 and the left eye not so good.  Now it is almost one week later and the right eye has gotten clearer yet and it looks as though the left eye is finally starting to come around and as usual I am being a impatient bastard and I am upset about the progress because the right eye was ahead of schedule.  All things considered it was a awesome experience to have no pain and get up the next day and be able to see without glasses.

So it is kind of like riding a roller coaster!  You walk into the eye doctors office and they have this poster proclaiming the miracles of laser surgery.  Then they have you watch a video where they tell you all the things that can go wrong and all the possible side effects.  Then the doctor comes in and tells you "you are a excellent candidate, we can give you great results.  So I scheduled for the 23d of this month.

I have been wearing glasses most of my life, but tomorrow I am scheduled for a consult for laser refractive eye surgery.  I am really stoked and a little nervous.
