Given the choice and assuming all other things are scaled to be equal (pay et al), which of these places would you choose to live:

San Antonio
Phoenix

(bonus points if you have lived in either place.)
care to repeat that ?

I listened to Ron Paul speak for about an hour last night at a rally in Mt Pleasant. I then briefly had the opportunity to listen to him speak with people after said rally.

Generally I'm against the Republican party (and the Democrats) however he is old school Republican. He openly spoke about getting rid of the IRS, allowing the younger generation to get off of social security, having a non-invasive foreign policy and all the things that this country used to be about. He didnt rant about faith or war like most republicans. He didnt tell me he wanted to take all my money like Hilary. He wants to reduce the size of the government and re-focus it so its only providing the services that a government should provide and not baby-sitting. Which is what this government has been reduced to in its domestic capacity. A very negligent and slow baby-sitter.

If you value your personal liberties, property rights, and quality of life I'd seriously suggest you look into Ron Paul as a presidential candidate.

Ron Paul 2008

Vote in your primary, make a difference. Stop being apathetic. We can change the system, but its going to take effort.

The LA job got bounced. They wanted me so bad that they strung me along for 3 weeks, and still didnt match what I asked for. Plus I found out some things about the company that I could do without.

I flat out turned down the Job in Charleston. I miss the beach, but apparently not enough to screw myself over it. I really want San Deigo or San Francisco. I can dream right ?

On other notes I just got off call, and slept 14+ hours straight without moving. I then took a piss that seemed to last about 20 minutes. Got up, ate breakfast, replied to some emails, went to the store, came back and slept more. Being on call sucks. One week with no more than 2 hours of consecutive sleep catches up with you.

So how are you doing ?

Tool is doing a tour, but they are only playing coliseums and nothing near me on the weekend. So yet again I miss out on Tool .... ::sigh::

Still waiting to hear from the place in LA, I have a firm offer on the table for a place in charleston, SC that ... doesnt wow me .. but it seems solid/decent. I think they are going to hamstring me for not having a degree. First time for everything I suppose.
LA bound ?

I have been only once. Now I have a job offer. The pay seems kinda low but overall it seems like a good job with some nice potential. I am bored with the east coast so I'd like to move.

Whats the cost of living like (how much does a decent 2br apartment run, eating out, gas elec and the like. ?) ? What are some non-suck places to live. I dont want to own a house, just rent an apartment someplace reasonably close to water and stuff to do. I'd like to keep my commute somewhat sane as well. The office is on Wilshire somewhere near figueroa. Its hard to find really useful info online, its good to get real people to give opinions.

I know lots of you live in LA so some details and opinions are appreciated.

Thanks.

I just got a good chuckle out of a post on craigslist. It was shortly afterwards taken down (~5 minutes) so thats a damned shame. Had to be the most amusing thing a 19 year old bitter man hater has posted in months.

Do people really live up to stereo types that frequently ? Am I really that detached that after all these years I'm just totally missing it ?
