Hey kids,

Well well well. I have not written a journal in ages. Sorry. My bad. How are the neon people of GG doing?

It's been crazy going for me over the past couple months. Getting super excited, as I leave for Barcelona tomorrow. Going to the Sonar festival, and a world of awesome. Hope I can keep my old bones together though out. Load of awesome acts playing. Looking forward to Fever Ray, Late Of The Pier, Crookers, Alkan, James Murphy, SebastiAn, Busy P, Little Boots, and others.

What else has been up.... mmm... been to Cape Town twice recently. Got smacked in the face for absolutely nothing, because some weird boet (South African for jock) thought I was hitting on his girl at a jol (South African Jock for party). I had never even met her, and I don't hit on peeps, as I love my girl to death. He was just looking for a rol (South African Jock for fight). I was so stoked, as I believe that getting proper smacked is passage to manhood. And, I have never been smacked before as I'm a complete pacifist. I was taking photies and sending them to all my mates.

What else... been hugely busy at work. Looks like one of my ads will be a Cannes contender this year. Very exciting. I don't think it will take anything big - not good enough for that, but being a finalist is good enough.
Just got a great job in, and might fly to Lagos, Nigeria when I get back to SA from Barcelona. Could be interesting. Bit scared. Also might be shooting a job where I get to go to India, or Tanzania in Septmeber (not scared). We'll see. Much of it is up in the air at the moment.

Tried to stop smoking. Did ok. Lasted more than a week and a bit. Then I had to DJ at a gig last Friday... and fail. Oh well. Will try again soon. I know what you think... izzzz iiiiiit (South African Jock for "sure you will bud"). You may be right. We'll see.

Seen a few really good movies lately. But rewatching Revenge Of The Nerds has almost made me believe in God again.

It's one year to the day that the Soccer World Cup will kick off in SA.

Well. Will try write more frequently for 3 people that might read this. Have fun. Oh, and I will post photo's of everything soonest.

Spent a week in Capetown and took a train to Joberg.  We were going to spend a few days in Joberg but was told its kind of dangerous and we were loving Capetown so we just went straight from the train station to Joberg airport (flying out of Capetown would have made our 8 hour flight to our next destination an 18 hour one.  The train was 24 hours but myself and my companions all like trains and it was an amazing way to see the country).  From what I saw on the way to the airport I am really happy we didn't stay there; it seemed 10x worse than the worst part of Detroit.

Even so we ended up stuck in Joberg airport for 12 hours bc the flight we were trying to get on was full haha.  We fly super cheap but only if theres room on the plane bc we all work for airlines.

congratulations on getting smacked! and god would never have written revenge of the nerds, it would be more appropriate to almost believe in satan.

You might be right in that Satan would be in IT, or an accountant. Hmmmm... food for thought. Better believe in Satan then. And thanks... yeah it was special gettin smacked. Almost bring a tear to my eye just thinking about it.
