i just got back from seeing "the wackness." is was pretty good. a lot more dramatic than the trailers let on, but still good, and honest.
the boys wanted to go skating tonight, but i'm tuckered out. too much running and walking around this week, i think.
don't know what's up for tomorrow. bbq perhaps? i heard something about a nighttime bike ride as well, maybe we'll try that out. it starts in venice though, that's kinda far.
i was walking down melrose with my roommate yesterday and saw the fat guy from superbad at johnny rockets. my roommate didn't notice and stopped to take a picture of something on the ground right in front of him. i bet he got really freaked out haha.
i feel boring today. like that's new. so i'm gonna go...

this sucks. my "high art" dvd is gone. just *poof* into thin air. i have six spindles of dvds, and i've gone through all of them twice. i think i might cry.

"the wackness" comes out on thursday. i want to see it very much. this is a trailer.

to give you an idea of just how bored i was yesterday, i actually started fucking around with retouching.  i despise retouching and i never ever do it.  but if i do it's as light as possible, and i refuse to do any compositing and all that because it's really time consuming and takes a lot of skill to make it look good.

but i retouched, and i composited.  it's a little crude, but i think it's kinda cool...




the landlord said he would have the exterminator come over today to spray the kitchen.  he gave me some super concentrated acid thing to put around the sink drains last week, just to hold us over until the bug dude could come, and it seems to have worked pretty well so far.  i'm going to keep using it even after they spray, just in case.  the landlord said it was a problem with the people that lived here before, so at least i feel a little better.  it's not like we caused it.  anyway, the point is when they spray i have to be out of the apartment for like 3 hours, and i have no idea what i'm going to do with myself.  i guess i'll take my camera and just walk around or something.

i got my shitty government stimulus check yesterday.  can someone please explain to me why i'm getting $300 and everyone else is supposed to get a minimum of $600?  somehow i don't think it would be worth the time and effort to follow all the red tape to get this cleared up.

i'm going to update my resume and cover letter today.  i'll try sending it out to all the studios and photographers in LA.  i didn't get many responses last time, but i also didn't have any experience.  maybe with a year of assisting under my belt more people will be willing to work with me.  this is my last ditch effort to stay in the photography game full-time.  if i can't make enough contacts and start getting more jobs to make up for my boss not working, then i'll have to get some crappy job just to pay my bills until my lease runs out.  then i'll probably have to go back home for a year or two and save up money to try again.

so that's what's going on in my life this morning.  someone out there tell me about something really exciting and fun that's happening to you.  i need a little cheering up.

i just did approximately four minutes of the 13 minute-long AM Yoga from the on-demand channel. this bitch is trying to get me to stretch my arms straight out from my head, plant my palms on the floor, and keep my legs straight. then, as if that weren't enough, she tells me to lift my toes. i never knew lifting your toes could hurt so much.

my verdict: yoga sucks.

i went to the office of finance this morning because i got a suspicious notice in the mail yesterday. apparently when i got my taxes done, i filled out an application to register myself as a small business. this was supposed to get me an exemption. except the application didn't go through on time, so the exemption the h+r block lady claimed for me was really just money i was stealing from the city. good times! so i had to pay almost $300 for that this morning.

i'm trying to figure out what kind of job i want to apply for. assisting is clearly not working out, and my lease isn't up until march so i can't just run home and stay with my mom until i get on my feet. but i feel, and she agrees, that i cannot work in an office. i'll quickly go insane and try to kill all my coworkers. and i love being outside, working with my hands. but i don't think blue collar jobs are an option, at least not here in LA. the pay is shit because the crews are all immigrants willing to work for peanuts. it's not even enough to live off, unless i want to work 80 hours a week. and i have nothing against immigrants, but i don't want to be the only one on the crew that doesn't speak spanish. 1) because i won't be able to communicate properly about procedures and safety, and 2) i know they're going to be talking shit about me all the time, and i'll get paranoid every time i hear someone laugh.

it might be cool to be a fireman, because i'd get a lot of exercise and be out and about a lot (not to mention all chicks love firemen, and i could pose for their sexy calendars). but i have this slight little problem with being burned alive. i dunno. seems like kind of a deal breaker.

i'm keeping my eyes open for anything though. as much as i love having a day off every single day, it's kind of boring hanging out by myself all the time. so if i got a job at least i'd have other people around to talk to.

between skating yesterday and running today, and not pigging out at night like usual, i weighed in at 159 today and my body fat dropped down to 13.9%. this is the first indication that it might actually be possible for me to reach my goal. not eating o much crap is definitely the hard part for me. but i plan on getting a lot of fresh fruit and veggies the next time i go to the store, and i'll try super hard not to eat after 7 or 8, and we'll see what happens.

i should start doing yoga too, i saw a bunch of fine ass bitches doing downward dog in the canyon today.

the new lady next door is pissing me off. this is the second time she's had people over on a saturday night and they decide to sit outside by the pool and play music and talk at like 3:30 in the fucking morning. i appreciate that it's the weekend, and you're in common space, but you have to realize you're surrounded by balconies on four sides and that shit echoes like a motherfucker. it sounds like they're in my bedroom with me. but apparently i'm the only one that cares? nobody else seems to be waking up because of it. damn heavy sleeping motherfuckers. and i don't want to be the one to say something because i'll go out there with a really bad attitude and it will just fuel animosity. grrrrrrr. i'm so over los angeles.

i think i fell on every part of my body today. chicks dig massive purple bruises, right?
