Great Show

listening to: Recon
Went to a show on Sunday 03.23.08 at a local spot called Northern Lights here in Albany.  It was the first show that me and my boy went to since his triumphant return from Cali.   Earth Crisis headlined and included Terror, Recon, Shai Hulud, Down to Nothing and Sworn Enemy.  The first act was Rick Whispers a white rapper, it was  a little strange (and not very good) considering it was a hardcore show.  Recon was next and as expected they lit the place up.   It was the first time that Nate heard them and it blew him away.  Down to nothing took the stage next and I know they have a good following but they just didn't do much for me.  Shai Hulud followed.... now I must warn you this is one of my favorite bands.... they seriously just fuckin floored me.  The pit(s) was/were insane.  The singer handed me the mic and I got to belt out most of a verse and the chorus to "My Heart", just fucking amazing.   Sworn Enemy was pretty good but I sat out the pits and just enjoyed from the bar.  I actually thought Terror was going to tear the building down.  The bouncers couldn't handle the total chaos erupting around them.  The pits were out of control the singer was calling people up on stage it was just insanity.  I am not the biggest Terror fan but they earned quite a bit of respect from me.  Just be anti-climatic Earth Crisis put on a good show as always.  Couldn't have asked for a better Easter.... monday sucked.

Fuck, what a shitty week.  Another friend of mine is lost on foreign soil.  His platoon was hit by two snipers this weekend in a known combat zone on a unconfirmed mission... read "they will lie to his family and may or may not give him credit for his actions".  It's so hard now that I am out to deal with this shit.  You always wonder if you were there would something different have happened....  It's like losing a brother, that's what is like in the Corps 400,000 brothers & sisters....  I can't even type any more.
Pics are finally up

Well I have never been much of a internet journal person but I think it might be good for me.  The problem is what do I write about?  Well lets start with the end.  Something that has been on my mind lately is the above date.  It's the date that several cultures (including the Aztecs) believe will be the end of the world.  Kabbalah mystics consider it an "important" date but won't commit to the end of the world theory.  Even some born again Christians (having already been proven wrong on a previous date) are saying this will be when the Rapture takes place.  Now whether it will be the apocalypse or just another day is completely unknown to me, but what is known is that will be the date that our sun aligns with a black hole in our galaxy.  This black hole is where the Aztecs thought there afterlife was so this would have been quite significant for them.  All that being said it's going to be a weird fucking day, like Y2K on crack with a full moon in a Salvidor Dali painting .  I think without the added tension of the expected end that kind of alignment has got to screw with solar and electromagnetic radiation levels.  People will be mood swinging like wrecking balls, the already high tension will potentially boil over.  Anyway, some food for thought maybe next time I will be more interesting...
