I know it is a little early to be talking about Xmas, but I really need some help with something. I have to put together a few CD's of Xmas songs.  It's something I have to do for work. I was hoping to do something different from the traditional Xmas songs we all know. There is nothing wrong with the classics like Silent Night and Jingle Bells. I just want to put together a more upbeat and modern Xmas CD. I was wondering if anyone knows any good Xmas songs from current artists. Tell me some of  your favorite Xmas songs? Maybe I will use them on my CD. Can you tell I am not a big Xmas person lol? I just saw a commercial for Saw IV......Really????  I think that series is a little played out! Well I am going to play Fallout 3 for a little bit, and check out some sets. Leave me some love, and help me figure out what to put on this CD.

All I want for Christmas is You - My Chemical Romance is my favorite

There's a lot of new versions of that Happy Christmas War is Over song too, I'm just not sure who by.

Or there's this: http://www.plyrics.com/va/asantacauseitsapunkrockchristmas.html

Well, Reverand Horton Heat does a great cover of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town".  Also, Weezer has a song called "Always", and there's "Las Christmas" by Jimmy Eat World, and...

"Don't Shoot Me, Santa", by the Killers

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Local H

"Christmastime" by Smashing Pumpkins

"Snow Day" by Bleu, is fun.

Nerf Herder has a Christmas EP...Oh, "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues is a Christmas season song.

Eric Idle has a song he did called "F**k Christmas" and it's hilarious.

Squirrel Nut Zippers has "Santa Claus is Smokin' Refer" and the Eels has "Christmas is Going to the Dogs"

Anything of the Nightmare Belore Christmas soundtrack is great.  And of course Brian Setzer Orchestra has quite a few Christmas albums chock full of punchy big band/rockabilly stuff.

And I, of course, love all the Rat Pack live stuff - their Christmas songs are usually so entertaining, often because they're usually drunk.  :)

All of these can be found on iTunes.

Cheers!
