Well well well... So I'm still here. I have not the slightest clue how long my last membership purchase will last; I can't seem to recall exactly how long I renewed for. So rather than be apathetic and without action, I shall spout my mind here once again!

For those of you who follow the life of my lovely live-in lady, WEMBOT, you may have gathered part of my recent absence was as a result of ten days spend on the big island of Hawai'i. I've now been away from real work and obligation for 12 days; it feels strange. I was certainly ready to head home when we did.

The trip was mostly eventful. I hiked, snorkeled, swam, saw, climbed the highest mountain mass in the world (Mauna Kea @ 13,796ft (4,205m) above sea level), caught a striped marlin, prepared said marlin in oil and garlic dashed with hawaiian sea salt and crushed peppercorns, visited a place with no roads, ate many foods, got a tan, et cetera et cetera. I will eventually post a video recollection of my trip; I have a few time lapse sequences to process and MANY images to sort through. Also on my adventure, my iPhone was stolen by a (I assume) groundskeeper at the resort we lived at for those 10 days. It was not recovered. Today I spend nearly $1000 buying a new iPhone outright. "Au revoir, tax return!" I had hoped tax return and I would have danced the debt reduction dance this year; alas, we were thwarted.

WemBot got the interwebs' equivalent of a 'call back' on her latest application to GodsGirls-dom; so please cheer her on in your thoughts!

visualCollective adventure season is rapidly approaching; my words of advice to you all = TRAVEL. As much as your life and lifestyle will allow you. Come visit Wem & I in Flagstaff, see the tropics, climb the peaks, ford the rivers, let your soul run deep in the world.

I think this will about do it for now. I will try and get back with some of my collected visual impressions of my trip. I'm playing hookey from work today on a count of a horribly delayed return flight and a long dead-of-night drive from Phoenix, AZ to Flagstaff. A nap sounds delightful, feel free to come join Wem & I...or just think about it <2+1

Cheers,
Andrew

**EDIT NUMERO UNO**
I totally forgot to build in my disclaimer about 'climbing the largest mountain mass in the world'. Mauna Kea is measured from the sea floor as the land mass the island of Hawai'i sits on is as a result of volcanic activity from that summit and from Mauna Loa (13,679ft above sea level). Measured from the sea floor Mauna Kea is 33,500ft (10,200m) aove sea level. Additionally, I did not climb --on foot-- to the summit. There is a 15+mi. road to the observatory complex that sits saddled in Mauna Kea's various cinder peaks. There is a bit of a trail (not exceeding a mile, round trip) from one of the access roads to the USGS marked summit of Mauna Kea. I decided to briskly trot the distance in high winds and 28•  temps at elevation after having been snorkeling the day before. Cardiovascular and respiratory systems, meet adema. As you may be able to tell, as I am authoring this at present, I did not have bodily fluids forced into the tiny spaces of my cellular walls by the extreme variations in altitude and physical exertion. Fret not.
That is all <3

Let me be perhaps the first of us to admit I could not live there. It's too isolated. I am prone to feverish bouts of wanderlust and I feel like the islander's syndrome would drag me down rather quickly. Herein lies the perk of having a time share; I can be a temporary resident and terrorize the locals...no, but really, I'm a polite foreigner in distant lands :]

Yeah. I thought I would feel super isolated when I was there but I loved it. Granted, I was only there for a week and a half.

My father's side of the family is Native Hawaiian and going there really felt like going home. It sound super cheesy but it really did feel more home-like than anywhere else I've been. It's a shame it's so damn expensive.
