It's Official!

In exactly one more week I'm moving back to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast.

I was really not sure about moving back, it took me a week to just decide to do it, even despite commuting between the coast and work in the city every day, as well as most of my friends being in Brisbane.

The place where I'm moving is a bit shabby really but not falling apart or anything serious enough for me to say no. Especially when rent is only $150 a week which is only about $10 a week more than what I'm paying now each week to travel to and from work.

The other thing that was holding me back was the lease on the place running out at the end of January and having no certainty of my friend I'm moving in with staying their past that point, or if she'll be leaving to move in with her boyfriend. The last thing I wanted was to be in the same situation as this January where my housemate just up and decided to fuck off without actually saying anything about it until a couple of weeks before the lease ran out, and then finding out that he'd already told them we wouldn't be renewing the lease completely eliminating the possibility of me finding someone else to even move in and take over his share of the rent.

But in the end, even if she does leave after the lease ends, I have way more notice this time that it may happen to be able to either find a new place or find someone else to move in so it won't be such a nightmare.

Plus it's just way more convenient given the number of gigs and things I have going on between now and the end of the year. I swear pretty much every weekend between now and November I have a different gig or something on. It would have cost me more than I'd pay in rent just to travel, find somewhere to stay and everything just for all of that.

So in the end it just made way too much sense to move back. And, even if worse comes to worse, it means at least ~6 months of not having to wake up at 5am and travel 2 hours to get to work every day so in hindsight it seems like a real no brainer.

I've missed seeing you around since I got archived!

I'm still in Brisbane too!

(Yes hello it's Soren, i've been hiding away from social media)

I totally get it.

I've had the impulse to do the same thing and just delete my social media accounts a bunch of times over the past 6 months... but I'm just way too addicted

It feels so weird to have only had a tiny facebook account with people I personally know for the last year, i'm making a comeback now that the crazy woman that's made my life hell for the last year and a bit has (hopefully) stopped trying to ruin my life!

But in saying that, it was a lot less stressful.

Are you staying in Brisbane for good?

I definitely hope so. But then that was the plan last time as well. But I think this time I should be able to make it work out better without having the shitty situation dropped on my head like last time. If I had an extra month to find somewhere else to live last time I probably wouldn't have had to move back in the first place so I'm confident I can make it work long term this time around.

It's definitelty so much better to be in Brisbane, so much closer to things!

Not wrong!

I have like a couple of month's worth of gigs and standup shows packed into the first 2 weeks after I move.

I can only think of a couple off the top of my head... I'm going to the Chester Bennington tribute/fundraiser thing at the Brightside next week, then Like Thieves at Crowbar the next week. I was supposed to be going to TAIM this week but I won't have moved back in time.

I shot the Chester Tribute at Crowbar and it was INSAAAANE.

Awww, i'll be at TAIM, my partner was just in their new music video coming out soon!

Oh that's fucking awesome!

I was so looking forward to going to that gig. Everything I've heard from their new album has been amazing. And just seeing them in that small a venue would've been nuts.

oh well.

Oh that's awesome!

I just found out yesterday I Heart Hiroshima are playing at the Foundry next Tuesday so it looks like I'll be headed to support them instead.
