Anyone know of someone responsible and nice who would like to adopt a sweet, lovable 3 year old boy cat? He is a strictly indoor cat who loves laps and other warm places to sleep. I can no longer have him since my roommate has become deathly allergic. I have raised him since he was 4 months old and it kills me to have to give him up. Please let me know.

My roommate has had 2 annifilactic shock attacks from the dander and she is pregnant so no shots. My cat doesn't even live with me right now after the last attack. Best senario would be to get someone to watch him for a few months so I could save enough money to get my own place. I can't afford a place on my own right now. I really don't want to get rid of my cat. He's my buddy.
I feed him organic Iams cat food now. Is that a good one?

Iams is a pretty lousy one actually. a lot of people think that it's good because of clever marketing and having grown up with the brand but it's actually remarkably bad. something in a similar price range that is much better would be the Nutro stuff that you find at petco.
i would offer to take your cat temporarily but we have a dog door and my cats tend to use it to go into the yard to sunbathe so your cat would probably follow them.

there are a lot of animal rescue people on craigslist. maybe if you made a post there explaining the situation then someone would be filling to foster your buddy for a few months.

A friend of mine in Albequerque is taking him for me until I get my own place. She is a flight attendant so she can fly for free.

your roommate won't get an allergy shot? there are a lot of things that people with pet allergies can do now. there have been a lot of advancements. maybe you could offer to pay for an allergy shot?
aside from that, you can put vitamin E drops in your cats water which will improve it's skin and coat and keep it from releasing a lot of dander and irritating your roommates allergies. also, feeding a super high quality food will really eliminate the amount of dander in your house. msg me if you want some recommendations for food.
getting rid of your cat should be the absolute last resort until you have tried everything elseee.
