Got some extra time to spend on tracks I'm submitting for a film score. It's the first feature film for this director. If all goes well, it will be my first job scoring a film fullstop. I began scoring some music for an independent film about 6 - 7 months ago but, that fell through for reasons unknown to me. I've been spending some time reading over this script in order to get myself into a different headspace than the usual of writing music for a band. 3 day lock in begins tomorrow so, I should really be sleeping but, I'm not. Time to turn the ideas into sounds and fingers crossed, be somewhere on or near the same wavelength as the writer/director.
Also, I still have yet to get in depth with the tracks we did a few weeks ago. I haven't been very involved for a little while. Too caught up in the personal of waving goodbye to someone near and dear who has now left these shores for a new job and a new life in London.. I also did some "real" work to help pay the bills. Then there's also the time spent in organising the landing of this film score. I'm not real big on the business side of trying to be able to make a living out of music. Let's call it a necessary evil. An evil I gladly put my hand up for this time round because the idea of scoring a film really interests me. Creating music and soundscapes for someone elses child seems like a challenging prospect. I'm up for challenging myself at this time. Pushing beyond that which i've already done. Already acheived. Am still working at accomplishing further. Nurturing the growth & expansion of my circle. Anyway, I should go look at the back of my eyelids for a couple of hours. Until next time...
