Oh my god, I first off have to say I miss EVERYONE!!!! Hope you guys didn't forget about little ole me. :(
But I am having just the hardest time with my norton antivirus 09, it's like the ultimate epic battle between evil and good! I swear it!!
Computer nerds UNITE! and band together with me to fight off this great evil of an antivirus.
OK, ok, so long story short, I keep uninstalling and reinstalling norton and everytime I reinstall it I have to get online(unprotected) to do the liveupdate to get virus definitions, THEN after I download the crap it has an error and doesn't want to work and says I need to uninstall and reinstall. So I've done this a few times, every time making more sure there is NO trace of any norton product on my computer at all to see if that's the problem. But no. I have no idea what's wrong and I'm about ready to go run into staples where I got it from and throw the cd at one of the workers there and walk back out. Don't worry, it will be videotaped if I get to that point. But I'm getting viruses and trojans, I know it, everytime I get online. I've been looking online for some answers, but I got none. :(

unfortunately you can't return software back to the store. You can go online and get AVG Antivirus 8.5 That works just as good as Norton, plus it's free. Anitvirus software is all personal preference. Enable your Windows Firewall in the meantime and get AVG

Oh, yeah, I was just simply going to throw the cd at them and leave, not necessarily return lol.
But I will look into that, and I've always used norton so that's why I'm trying to figure out this thing that I just bought. :/

and you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the software?

Yeah, at least 5 times. I've read that it might be that there's still another version of norton on my computer and that's why it's all wacked out, but I searched through everything multiple times and I've completely wiped out any trace of any other norton, which is why I'm so frustrated. :(
Oh well, I'll keep trying, I'm way too stubborn.

try to go to your registry editor and take out the registry key for Norton and re-install it
