seriously guys, i suck at godsgirls lately. i'm sorry.
i guess it feels like not much is happening right now that i can update with, and then before i know it i haven't updated in months. not fair!
ummm, okay so basically since i got home i've just been spending time with my family, trying to find work (which so far is a big fail), shopping, reading, and generally trying to improve myself as a whole.
i have been super into thrift shopping lately, and usually go about once a week to various stores in my area. I haven't really found too much that's interesting, i've been pretty into 90's style lately so vintage dresses have been big on my list, flannel shirts too, and i am a shoe fiend as usual. i have also been trying to build up a collection of new books that i can read during the colder months (and now).
i also found a vintage electric chord organ at goodwill for $15, although i don't really know how to play, nor am i musically inclined, i felt like i had to get it. i have been messing around with it quite a bit, and really at this point it's not really getting me anywhere, but i figure it's a fun little project. i might even try and write some songs or something, we'll see.

i have really been pretty uninterested in modeling these days, but just when i finally make that realization, life starts throwing all these new opportunities at me. it's actually pretty neat, sometimes the world has a way of making decisions for you, and getting you back on the right path, or at least a path.
i have a few paid gigs coming up in the next month or so, including my first paid travel shoot ever. tomorrow morning i leave for a week in yellowknife, northwest territories. it's pretty far north, and i have heard it's extremely beautiful up there, but never somewhere i would end up going on my own steam. i am going to be working with a photographer who lives there, working on a project being funded by some government grant money.
at first i was pretty skeptical of the situation, but i have done all the checking of references, talking with government people, models he's worked with, etc. and everything seems to check out. i've done all i can to ensure my own safety an the legitimacy of the situation, and i've convinced myself (and my mom, which says a lot) that it's a good idea. i am pretty excited actually, getting paid to travel is something that is a pretty novel concept, and something that i have never really assumed i would get to do. i am going to take my camera as well, i think i should be able to get some pretty awesome shots up there.
it was my niece's birthday on the 20th, i picked a bunch of crab apples from the tree in our yard last week, and decided to make some mini crab apple and blueberry pies for her party. i also made a really insanely awesome vegan s'more cake that actually gave me a sugar rush.
on sunday we went to see the broadway version of the lion king, it was actually a lot better than i expected it to be. my mom bought the tickets months ago and was really excited about it, because she "has never seen a broadway show before". it was really well done, and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

oh and i got my bicycle up and running, so that's been nice. i hadn't really been interested in it the past few years, but in montreal i got really into riding so it's been nice to have it here. the city is really not very bike friendly and i get honked and yelled at a lot. people are obviously not aware that i am actually supposed to be riding on the road.
errr, i'm sorry i don't have anything interesting to tell you guys.
i saw eddie last night and we were going to do some shooting but we ended up just going to get food instead. you can for sure expect some awesome diy's coming from us in the next few months though, i promise you.
that's everything i can think of to talk about right now so uh, i guess i will go now, and try to update with more frequency.
love you!

Livia, oh Livia! How very wonderful to hear from you! Don't worry about a post being interesting. It's really quite worth just knowing how you are what's going on in your life! Yikes! - that was disturbingly like something my parents would say. Forget I said it. But not the sentiment. I meant that part. Geez, should i shut up now?
I've been lax in not checking up with you. I should be smacked upside the head.
l <3 you. :)

please don't be upset. don't forget that your interview for that magazine has prevented a few suicides and I do have confirmation of that.
