today is my one year anniversary of living in los angeles. i feel really weird about that, though i can't explain why. maybe because my trip home for the holidays (which was really only a short period in denver and then off to the great frozen north of no internetz) made me realize i will never, ever live in denver again. this is a photo of me and dubs. *sigh*
this is my other bff that i got to see, his name is shane and he's a total scumbag. he likes satan, as you can probably tell. and beer. hence the three DUI's he's rocking presently. awwwww shane!
remember how i said i finished my mermaid tattoo featuring aleks' sweet rack and then never showed you photos? here. let's fix that.
i figured out how to look like a dinosaur.
someone sent me this message the at first made me really angry but then i decided actually might have a valid point. so i am going to grow my hair out. my hair has not come anywhere close to touching my shoulders (not to mention going below them) in well over 10 years. i am afraid of all the hideous growing-out phases i will have to go through. if you see me and my hair looks bad, lie and tell me you love it so i don't go insane and cut it all off again.
if you want to fedex me some nioxin that would be cool too. i'm already eating biotin like it's going out of style.
i have decided i am going to stay home on NYE because... a) i am not interested in spending money and b) i don't really know who i want to hang out with so it's easier to just not hang out with anyone. also i am having a fat week and don't feel like wearing anything but muumuus. if you have any spares you are welcome to send them to me so i can stitch them all together to form a super muumuu of doom.
next week is going to be awesome though. so i'll just be kinda tame to preserve all my "fuck-shit-up-but-don't-get-arrested" energy for that.

I really love your short hair, not many people can pull it off. But I understand why you would want to grow it out. I had short hair for 3 or so years when I was in high school and I know what it's like to miss the femininity long hair brings.
What that guy said was totally off though... I'm sure he was just made he had no chance to get in your pants.

well he moved away to vegas for a few years, he just moved back to denver at the beginning of last year i think. funny factiod: he's the person who introduced me to myspace.

i love that hoodie.
try those nioxin pills, they work like crazy. just be prepared for increased growth in body hair also. you won't sprout hairs in places you never have, but you will have to shave the usual places more often.

Congrats on making it a year in LA, I completely understand how you must be feeling; I'm originally from Maui, Hawaii but I know that I can never really go back or live there again. The cities have so much to offer in the way of culture, life and excitement as opposed to our small towns which seems disconnected from time. I've been in the Bay for 7 years now and have no plans to leave except for when I got to Japan to teach. :P
P.S.
Long hair is overrated, girls who can really rock the short hair like you are few and far between.

I think that's part of what made me feel so uncomfortable--the fact that everyone there is in the exact same place doing the same things but with slightly different sidekicks.
And I'll keep that in mind. Honestly I doubt I'll make it more than a month or two without cutting my hair and then go insane and cut it short again.
