So I woke up today to a maintenance guy knocking on our door to repair underneath the vanity in our bathroom.. Smashbase went to take the dogs for a walk & returned letting me know the neighbor just informed him my car had been broken into. What a WONDERFUL way to start off my day off & upcoming weekend! Today we were supposed to hear north to Wisconsin for a camping trip that we have had planned for a month now. Needless to say I'm pretty upset and irritated right now with this entire situation. Once I got to my car I realized my gps, Ipod, camera along with a few other things had been stolen from my vehicle. The items all had been out of site. There was even pieces of my mail that I had in the car laying on the street & sidewalk. The person that did this was also nice enough to leave some blood splatter on my seats & mail, how nice of them. The cops didn't fingerprint or take any blood samples since it wasn't a "serious" crime, guess forensics isn't used in cases like these. It's safe to say I'm having a terrible day and I was really looking forward to this weekend... now all I want to do is SLEEP! I'm hoping it doesn't rain since no one can fix my window until tomorrow.. so keep those fingers crossed for me. I'm really hoping sometime soon some good luck comes my way. I'm sick of these bad luck streaks.

Sorry to hear, that sucks.  I live in downtown San Francisco and saw someone put a note in their window of their car that read:  "DEAR POTENTIAL BREAK IN PERSON, I ASSURE YOU THERE IS NOTHING OF VALUE IN HERE... I PROMISE."

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that, dam! I hope your insurance can do something to help fix your car and your belongings.

As for the maintenance these jerks are supposed to call first but of course they never don't.

Friggin cops. Let someone steal their personal stuff and see how serious they think it is. Ugh...

Oh, man, I'm sorry!  That fucking sucks.  It's so hard to have faith in a species that doe sshit like that and yet is considered "civilized", or even "sentient".

Big hugs!

i'm sorry miss lady.

hopefully you have the serial #'s of the stuff taken and you gave them to the police. more than likely the stuff is going to wind up in a pawn shop somewhere close by.

WTF?  That is a serious crime!  A GPS, Ipod, and camera are all worth a lot of money, and having your mail opened is an invasion of privacy.  but what really irked me is the blood.  ewww, what the hell did that person do in your car?  Your poor little mini =(  I'm sorry that this happened to you.  Is there anything you can do about it?

the police don't care about property crimes.

unless they see the person doing it or you witness the person and can identify them they aren't going to bother.

i had a crazy lady who was dumping weird trash in my yard every thursday morning for the entire summer and they wouldn't do anything about it.

that is ridiculous, I hate that shit is like that.. my friends house was broken into and it seemed like the police didn't even care

unfortunately that is the way the world is.

the police don't have the money or resopurces to deal with it so you either get screwed or raped by the insurance companies.

my insurance company told me the cost to replace my house went up so my premiums went up and yet the appraiser told me the value went down so i can't refinance it.

what kind of crazy math is that?

my house is fortified against zombies and/or crack-heads; i drive a shitty car and don't even leave a toothpick in it so it isn't even worth the effort to break into.

I had the window put back in today the glass is all cleaned up as well as the blood.. The window just no longer lines up right and there is glass stuck in the lock & regulator.

I should of known better then to leave things in my car.  (even though they were TOTALLY out of site) This neighborhood is a bit rougher then we expected it to be but hey break ins happen anywhere.. going to check out the pawn shops around here to see if any of my stuff turns up

My car was stolen out of my driveway in 2004 (with about $3000 dollars worth of stock).  I wound up hating the insurance company more than the thieves (and that is a LOT!).  The cop who took the report had had his car stolen at some point and was rather too complacent about it for my taste.  Yeah, it reeks and can't think of a silver lining - even after all of these years.  Hope things turn around for you.

That sucks!  It seems like it's been one problem after another at this place.  I've had my car broken into a cpl of times...but never anything as extreme as what happened to you (also, I have a jeep, so all anyone has to do is unzip the window, lol.)

So sorry this happened to you.  Truly sucks.
