this morning (and by morning i mean mid afternoon) i received three dozen roses. roses are not my favorite. i really like orchids, hydrangea and peonies but i am not complaining at all. they are lovely and i am charmed. i was laying in bed with my asian, leslie, when they arrived. i love leslie.
i am going to fill this blog entry with pictures since i think that's what you are all mostly here for.
dave navarro (www.godsgirls.com/members/davenavarro) does not approve of this dress but i like it and here is a picture.
i bought this shirt the other day on a sale rack somewhere. at first i thought that it was some kind of "let's go shopping and spend money together" sort of phrase and then it occurred to me that this is a shirt for slutty nerds. i am a nerd who looks a touch slutty on occasion so i think it suits me. my friend kat says that i am not allowed to leave the house wearing any shirt with the word "stimulate" written on it but we will see. she is not the boss of me!

i bought this art deco vanity recently after a long, arduous search around craigslist. it got damaged a bit on the way home but i love old furniture and i am happy about having a vanity to stack all of my feminine potions on. this makes getting ready much more enjoyable. my room is getting crowded though and i would like very much for a professional closet organizer to take over my house. maybe that will be my next big spend. or maybe i can con one of you into doing it for me. who is feeling open to a grift?
in keeping with my trend of recent history in having roommates all named Lauren our very own Lauren of GodsGirls has moved in to my house. we are getting along swimmingly. she enjoys my cooking and i enjoy that she has an official spot on the sofa. i also enjoyed her boyfriend bill when he came to visit us. here is a picture of him walking around the house in many petticoats and one of my famous bear heads.
he walked passed me a number of times wearing those petticoats and at first i tried to play it cool like i thought what he was doing was normal but the last time he walked by i erupted into a fit of laughter and he let me take a picture.
i am obsessed with this lipstick and with this zebra-ish jumpsuit thing that i am wearing. the 90s are the boss of me lately and there have been many shoulder pads and all things coral-hued in my life.
but some things like my penchant for hood rat earrings will never change.
i spent a fair amount of my childhood in the projects outside of detroit. my affection for soul food and door knocker earrings is SERIOUS.
this is what happened when i tried to come up with a 'toned down' make up look for myself. my other 'toned down' look is red lips, eyeliner only, light blush but it still seems too wintery for our current weather in los angeles. we are in a suspended state of summer, it seems.
and here i am laying around in bed.. my favorite activity.. or lack of activity.
and here i am with no makeup. my skin has been troublesome lately. so have some other things in my life. i have a great deal of stress/tension in my shoulder area right now. i had this rock solid knot in my neck the other day. i need infinity massages and pampering and about 50 thousand expendable dollars.
i am getting very restless. i want something exciting to happen but i am trying to remember not to let my sense of urgency get the best of me. i am not a patient person and sometimes that has it's negative effects on EVERTHING.

I have come from the 1980s to tell you two things:
1) I am genetically predisposed to awesome massages. I am not making this up. You with the tense shoulders, me with the massage gene? We could make beautiful music together. Well, not music, but you're beautiful so we're halfway there, right?

I really do love the style of your new girly piece of furniture :) I used to have one as well but not in art deco more in 70ies plastic style... right now I can't find a place to put it... the room I was going to make my huge dressing room is now going to be the baby room so I need to come up with something different.
