I got myself some new spectacles. Two pairs in fact!
These are my crimson girly glasses. I like them for pretty outfits. They are spectacles worn by a secretary with a demure blouse and skirt but with seamed stockings on garters leading into a pair of shiny patent leather heels.

And then I have my nerd glasses. They are by Ben Sherman and I totally love them. They have little Union Jacks on the arms.

I think they make me look like Velma from Scooby Doo. Which can only be a good thing in my opinion!
I'd been really slack in getting new specs, because I loved my old pair so much - and I hadn't had the lenses replaced in five years (poor uni student/saving for being a vagabond). These glasses have my updated prescription. My right eyed is fucked up! But, my god, I have proper contrast again! It's remarkable how even colours have become more brilliant and just the sharpness of the world. I love wearing glasses, but I envy those of you who can see the world like this all the time!

Thank you! I certainly feel like one of those 'meddling kids!'

Jinkies...I wanna buy you an orange turtle necked sweater....<33
Velma was always my favorite.
Viola
haha if you buy me the sweater I'll do a Velma set :D Hmmm, that's not a bad idea.

Yes, a hotter and sexier version of Velma! Wow
Viola
hahaha thank you, Mister! x

I loooove the second pair! You look super cute with glasses :)
Viola
I'm totally in love with the second pair. I can't take them off. Thank you, wifey.

i love glasses too. but i just wish i could see things for what they really are. my eye doc told me that even witha perfect prescription, people with glasses still don't see things as sharply as they really are. weird. and sad.
Viola
Really?! That is kinda sad. Oh well, I feel kinda lucky in that I appreciate being able to see and therefore notice a lot of things that people who can see perfectly take for granted!
Sadie
Love your new spectacles, you look gorgeous in both pairs <3

Thank you, pet! x

I've felt the same way. SOme days I would love to not have to wear glasses all the time. I've thought of contacts, too, and I may still get some. But most of the time I really like the way I look in glasses, so I keep wearing them. I'm overdue for news ones as well!
You most definitely look super sexy in both of your glasses. I'd be in a quandary to try and choose a favorite of the two. :)
I think everyone loves Velma from Scooby Doo! And if they don't, there is something wrong with them. :)
OXOX

Seriously, get a new script! It is an amazing experience! Thank you, I'm leaning towards my Velma glasses at the moment, but I like having the other pair, as they're more feminine. xoxo

Awesome. I like those first ones. They've kind of (and I think your expression helps, too) got this naughty side to them, I think. Like somebody's about to get in trouble. I'm half expecting you to be holding a riding crop just off-screen. :P
Those Velma ones are pretty cool, too. If it weren't so frustrating, I'd want to go watch Scooby Doo right now! (like they can't have figured out it's the first guy they met wearing a mask, again!)
I think I'll just settle for making a Shaggy-style sandwich. :D
Viola
:D and you know he's just gonna complain about how he "would have got away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!"
(Oh, and I'm not the type to hold a riding crop, more the type to have my wrists bound together off screen ;) )

Good to know!
I tend to prefer to be the one who uses the crop, anyway. >:D

*swoons* Too cute you are, Miss V! <3
I think just about everyone is predisposed to needing corrective lenses at some point in their life. I've got a slight case of astigmatism (apparently hereditary), need glasses for working on electronics or driving in unfamiliar suburbs at night, but I can get everything else done okay without them. I didn't put much thought into choosing my frames though, so I've got a set of boring "Kevin Rudd"-like specs. I find if I press my finger gently on my eyeball (!) I can get my sharp vision that I had in my childhood back through.
Viola
Thank you! *blush*
Yeah, I can actually see fine without my glasses, because my right eye is short sighted, whilst my left eye is long sighted, so they balance out, but my left eye picks up a lot of slack, which gives me headaches if I'm reading or editing or watching TV.
Why were you poking yourself in the eye in the first place to find this out?!
Diablo
Uhm... :o A series of logical deductions, you see. If Astigmatism was a result of slight pressure on the eye from the top/bottom, I figured I should be able to balance it out by pressing sideways. Then again, there are certain parts of the human anatomy for which this strategy shouldn't be attempted.
It probably reflects my risk-taking nature in the face of boredom.
Viola
That's actually quite a logical conclusion to come to. I'm strangely impressed. :D

They there is a bit of a Velma look about them, and you ... you look good, and so do the specs :)
