In the spirit of enjoying the quiet warmth of each other's cozy company rather than a house teeming with ill-dressed, sarcastic drunkards, my luvah and I decided to pass up what would have most likely been a mediocre Hallowe'en party tonight and had a Fable II marathon instead! I also burned pumpkin seeds while he imbibed life into the bearer of aforementioned seeds. One tealight and one adorable expression later, our pumpkin was given the name Pork Rind.
After the carving was completed, we planted a few pumpkin seeds in a large pot, hoping that at least one of them will sprout and allow Pork Rind's snaggletooth legacy to live on.
Tomorrow, we have a date with a haunted 19th century pioneer village (allhallowseve.ca) and all my pirate garb is currently (eagerly!) being worn one day early because it just feels appropriate. So much magic in the air right now, so much mythos. I want to curl inside the heart of October and live here forever.
Arrr, matey! I am the Pirate Queen and Destroyer of All Things Scurvy! Try to drop your anchor in my lagoon and I'll show ye the business end of me scabbard! 
Happy Hallowe'en, fellow fright enthusiasts! I hope your Samhain holidays are filled with as much celebration and folklore as mine. Photos of aforementioned festivities, as well as the beauty in nature that defined my Autumn season, will definitely be featured in a later entry. Right now, there is coffee, there is rain and my entire house smells like pumpkins. Oh, the simple things.
