I've spent the last two evenings successfully volunteering as a venue coordinator for bands playing in my town's local music festival. That means that I've had the privilege to witness eight live bands in two days for free! My ear drums? Busted. But free music, free food, free drinks and befriending an army of awesome security guards make up for predicted hearing loss. A few minor highlights:
note to chick band that played on Thursday: just because you consist of all girls does not mean I will give you special treatment. You showed up late, gave my security guard compadres attitude, took an hour to get your equipment set up, and your music (which was mediocre at best) sounded nothing like the tracks on your Myspace page. GTFO my stage, thanks.
However, the percussionist from Awaking State? You were friendly & awesome and I kinda drooled on myself when I saw your 0g wooden spirals and perfectly maintained dreadlocks. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't bring my camera.
In other news, I finally organized my piercing jewelry and supplies and started wearing stainless steel curved barbells in my lobes again, after three years of leaving them bare. REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD. But can someone please explain to me why the hell can I fit a 14g circular barbell in lobe piercings that have been naked for so long but I keep having supreme difficulty stretching my three-year septum piercing up one gauge? ARGH.

I have so much more to say, but the adrenaline from the festival is wearing off and my bones are eager to revisit the sanctuary of a soft, warm bed. i had my septum down to an 8 which isnt very big, but was it huge pain in the ass. i succeeded by stretching in the shower.

Seems like you had fun at the music festival. I did something simular several months back, but I volunteered as a photographer. However the photos never made it out on the last day. My camera ended up getting smashed all to pieces, including my memory stick. At least I could have came out of it with the photos, but no I wasn't that lucky.
I would just like to say your ears look great. Are you happy to have some jewerly in them again?

Shit, that really sucks about your camera. Please tell me it at least got wrecked during an epic moshing session?
"Happy" is a severe understatement. I was thrilled to have new jewelry in my lobes again, especially after so many years of leaving them bare due to a misconception that I couldn't wear anything in them because of allergic reactions. Stainless steel and titanium, however, are my best friends.

About my camera, I was actually crouched next to the stage taking a shot and appearently two guys got into a fight directly behind me. I was unaware of it, the one guy ended up getting pushed into me and my camera landed under him. So I got really pissed off, wasn't sure who to go after. But I figured it wasn't that guys fault who got pushed and went for the guy standing. Which was actually the right guy to go after, because he was drunk and groping the others guys girlfriend. We exchanged words for about 30secs before he started coming at me. I ended up fighting with him for a couple mins before the cops came and pulled me off him.
I hope all that made sense.

I missed you too. I send you a message in Aug., maybe you didn't get it. I thought you forgot about me. Overall, I'm doing good. Just figuring out my next move in life.
