New Moon, and Bonfire Night posted : 11/05/09 at 11:04am pst listening to:playing on the Wii

Hi guys so in the UK NewMoon is out on Nov 20th... OMG im so excited i cant wait to see it, what i wouldnt do to Edward Cullen. NOM NOM NOM. I would do some serious damage to that man. I have fancied him for years though( Robert Pattison) The first time is saw his cute face was in the Bad Mothers Handbook. swoon<3

In the uk its also Bonfire night where we celebrate that Guy fawkes didnt blow up the houses of Parliament. Most people usually go to large fire displays on the weekend and thats where i will be off on sat night to watch a huge show that set in the grounds of a castle.. I love having sparklers and eating candyfloss so i cant wait!

Noemy and myself are also in the Metal Ink, Metal Maiden competition so go and vote for us, as usually suicide girls win this comp and it would be super cool if  a GG could clinche it!

Thanks, Natascha.

Your post finally made me look up "nom" in the urban dictionary.  Hip and modern I am not.

Helen Walsh wrote about bonfire night in her novel Brass.  In the book the female lead talks about how her "cunt does a somersault" whenever she sees a man or woman she likes.  Great book.

My nieces and their friends love Robert too.  Team Edward they call themselves.

I think you (and most godsgirls, in fact) would really like Brass.  Her more recent book is called Once Upon a Time in England, but I haven't read this one yet.

Definitely not like the classics.  Brass is more like a gritty, raw urban female coming of age story.  Here are a couple of excerpts from reviews:

"In Brass, Walsh has created some of literature's sexiest sex scenes. . . She alienates herself from her best friend as she drinks, smokes, snorts and fucks herself one step ahead of her demons. . .Spellbinding and utterly unique."  The Independent

"Fast-paced, gritty. . . graphic, erotic, disturbing at once. . . Walsh's energy and language give an entertaining ride." Kirkus Reviews

"The raciest and best written of the lot (of so-called 'Clit Lit').  Walsh is a cryptofeminist with genuine talent." Time Out New York

I will try, but im guessing it probably wont be my type of read. i love sci fi, and life when it wasnt so gritty and mean:)

You're right.  It probably won't be your type of read.

Enjoy New Moon and bonfire night !
