Life these past few days has consisted of dinosaurs, running into a pro-palestine vs pro-israeli protest, going out for yummy dinners, drinking cocktails, being really cold, and watching a lot of amazing old movies. You know...stuff like Bladerunner, Highlander, Barbarella, Heathers... Great movies, haha.
After watching Barbarella with my boyfriend the other night I decided that for Halloween this year I'm going to dress up as The Great Tyrant. Anita Pallenburg is a goddess in that movie and well...I think I'd make a fairly decent Tyrant. =o Plus I'd have loads and loads of time to make the costume! I would just need to decide on which outfit... o.0 They're all amazing! What do you think, could I pull off the look?

I think I'm in love with this cocktail they serve at Sidecar. It's called a Pineapple Pisco Punch and it absolutely amazing! It has pineapple infused Peruvian brandy in it and all sorts of other deliciousness. The great/scary part is that it doesn't taste like alcohol at all! =x I could drink them all night only I'd probably wake up sick as a dog the next morning, haha.
Sidecar is a really great restaurant on College St that is owned by a good friend of my boyfriend. I definitely recommend it, although lately they are packed every night so I'd suggest making a reservation. =o
As soon as I get home I need to go shopping for a book bag and some new clothes for school! Feels weird saying that but I'm really excited. =) I start college next month, woo. I have no idea where to get a cute book bag (I don't want a generic back pack), so if any of you have any suggestions or have any good links to send my way, let me know. =)

i know! that's totally why i want to pick one soon and have it done WAY before halloween. so that i don't have to worry about it then! lol. it was definitely a fun past few days. =D

I kind of just walked into it when I left the museum. It was kind of scary to be honest, lots of angry people yelling back and forth at each other. They had the two sides seperated by a tiny fence in the middle of the street. Wasn't doing much. o.0 Kind of rather never be in the middle of a protest ever again. =x

Haha, what is itttt?!!!! I am totally doing shopping in advance for my Tyrant costume when I get back but mainly all I have to shop for is materials. See through, feathery, sequin-ish materials. O.o I'm in for a fun time trying to put this shit together, lmao.
I like messenger bags/reporter type bags. Something along the lines of this:
I hate big giant brand names on my stuff though, ;/ So i'm going to keep looking and hopefully find something I really like.

Aww, are they?! I was in love with the exhibit they have at the ROM! It's huge and they have everything set up really, really well. I loved it and it was my very first dinosaur exhibit experience. :x Didn't go to museums much when I was younger.
Thank you for the vote of confidence! It's going to be a bit of work putting together one of her outfits (I'm pretty much going to have to MAKE it myself, eep) but I'm excited. I think if I can manage to get the costume made it will be my coolest Halloween costume idea to date, haha.

When I went to the spider thing at the L.A. museum the dinosaur section was closed down with a renovation sign. Maybe it is done now, but it can only mean good things!

You should definitely make that your costume, though. It looks awesome.

Oh man, you should watch it! It's made in the 1960's, so it's totally cheesy but great. I recommend it if you like silly cult classics. The Great Tyrant is Barbarella's nemesis and well...they have both have really ridiculous costumes in the movie. I have to decide on one. =o
The exhibit was really great, they had tons of different dinosaurs and other creatures. I was impressed. =D

the dinosaur exhibit looks dope, i should check to see if there are any in my area.
i tried pisco once, by itself tho. i think you could literally start a car with it.
i would rather drink bacardi 151 over pisco.

that is exactly what casey (the owner of sidecar) said about pisco by itself. that's why they let it infuse with pineapple for a while! it's crazy. it tastes amazing afterwards! they actually do that with a lot of different booze for their different cocktails. they make a killer dill caesar with cucumber infused vodka. it's to die for. =D

it is soo freaking good! i had a dill caesar then three pineapple pisco punch cocktails...then the really nice bartender at sidecar gave me two different shots of some stuff that had like lemonade with ginger and god knows what kind of liquor. o.0 it was really good.
