toronto post, finally. 06/25/08 01:46 pm pst
Listening to:
okay so now that i finally have a day off, here is my epic photoblog documenting the awesomeness that was toronto.
eddie and i bought giant suitcases for the trip, mine was more giant than hers. it's amazing. i packed the night before we left, and fooled around with a camera, with my new hair and sunglasses.

getting that shit down the stairs in the morning was terrible. our flight left at 8AM, so amythia picked me up at my house with marla in tow and we got to the airport around 7. eddie was coming separately and she showed up at like 7:20 (with a boarding time of 7:30) and almost gave me a heart attack. i was a stress ball, un-necessarily, but still. i had made sure that we were all sitting together, marla and eddie beside me, and amythia right behind us. eddie and marla slept, and i took a picture of them.

mwa ha ha! look how cute they are when they sleep! i gave myself the window seat because looking out the plane window is my favourite thing ever. the clouds were really neat, i love it when they all line up.

after they woke up, eddie read a book and marla and i played silly games like hangman, we drew collaborative pictures, and then all three of us played our own version of pictionary. amythia watched movies on her laptop, i think.
at the airport i told them about the farhaad suprise, and when we got off the plane and collected our luggage, i phone him and tried to collect him too. after half an hour of both of us wandering around and trying to figure things out, we finally realized he was in another terminal. he took the train to ours, and made it just in time to make it to our pseudo taxi that would be taking us to our hostel. i saw him from behind, and i screamed at him and we had a sweet airport hug. it was dope.
we got to the hostel, and got settled. we made plans to meet up with wren and madie, and a few hours later we were on our way. i ALMOST ruined the farhaad suprise, but good thing wren was slightly drunk and not really paying much attention to my stupid slip ups. we forgot that all 5 of us couldn't fit into a cab, so we had to split into two, marla, amythia, and i showed up first. when farhaad and eddie showed up there was a scene when wren saw him. it was soooooo funny and totally worth keeping the secret for a few months. awesome.
we wandered around for a bit, and then headed to where the artists dinner was being held. it was sooooo good to see the ladies again, i sure missed them! i met lots of girls for the first time too, which was great. the food at the dinner was terrible, but i got buzzed off of one free beer, and then was so tired i was ready to pass out. here are pictures from that evening!

we left early and got ready for the next morning. we got the hotel the next morning, and we saw clementine! cuuuuute. here's us waiting for all the other ladies to arrive.

the amount of hotness in that lobby when everyone arrived was overwhelming. i couldn't stand it. we went to get our outfits all sorted out for the fashion show/convention day, and i loved spying on all the girls getting naked in the hotel room. mmmmmm naked girls. we went on an adventure that afternoon.

i found a real cute dress and two necklaces, and a pair of sunglasses. when i went to buy them eddie got mad at me and said she was planning to suprise me with the cute owl necklace that i saw. she bought that for me, and i bought the rest. alice lead us on an epic adventure to save seats at sneaky dees, where we were all going for nachos later on. here are some photos from dinner!

the ladies i was staying with left, and i went on fun time adventures with madie, farhaad, and wrenny! we went to this really expensive bar that was really trendy and not cool. we had one drink, and poor farhaad ate some ridiculous rare beef dish.

aria met us there, and we left to find our way back to the convention for a bit.
look at cute photos!

thats the dress and one of the necklaces i bought earlier that day. that was us waiting for madie outside americal apparel, we started to walk back and it started raining! aria said she would walk because she had an umbrella, and the four of us jumped into a cab for the few blocks back to the convention. we waited around for a while, and then made our way to the afterparty for that night. it was at some weird bar called the republik. there were really bad bands playing, but we had a VIP lounge upstairs so it was cool. i convinced the girls that in order to save the night we needed to go dance on the raised platform down in this weird hip hop dance room. we all went down, and piled like 10 of us onto this weird platform and danced our asses off. a few of the girls ended up without their shirts, i would have but i was wearing a dress. probably a good thing. heres clementine and eddie right before we left the bar.
hot ladies, both literally and figuratively!
we left pretty early and went back to the hostel, saturday was gonna be a long day!
we woke up and got ready to go. the day at the convention was long, i stayed at the booth quite a bit, but i spent so much time at it last year that i decided i had done my dues. here are some photos from during the day:

i went and walked around a bit, and around 6 aria and farhaad stole me to go shoe shopping and to get some yummy foods. while we were walking, we came across a random hoard of people holding the tiniest dogs ever. i was making a fuss over how cute they were and someone handed me one. OMG. i wanted to put it in my bag and walk away. i would have if i wasn't flying home.

we went to look at shoes, and then went to get FOOD. i was so hungry. farhaad and i got shawarma, and then aria phoned ahead to pick up a veggie burrito. on the way to get her burrito, farhaad realized that i didn't know how to make LA with my fingers. i finally figured it out, and look at me and aria! cute!

farhaad took this of me while we were waiting for aria to get her burrito, and talking about hipsters.

next, aria left to go home and rest, and we headed back to the convention. soon after we got back, eddie and i took the first preparation shift and went up with katrina to her room to get ready for the party. i looooooove katrina so much, she is the most darling girl and i would have stolen her forever if i could. we got to talk, and get ready and look hot. we went back down and the rest of the convention went off without a hitch. cyn and dee stayed behind to pack up, and the rest of us headed down to the art gallery to partayyyyy.
the party was great, lots of hot ladies, amazing fashion show, porcelains burlesque STUNNED me, and there was lots of great art. dancing, and partying galore!

the party ended a little earlier than we suspected, so we went in search of another venue to move to. they found somewhere, but some people got in and some didn't. eddie and clementine went back earlier, but unfortunately the rest of us calgary girls, alice, and farhaad, did not get in to the next party. we ended up sitting on the curb waiting for a cab back, but we waited forever! farhaad and alice went on their own adventure, but when they came back they found us still sitting on the curb!

i forgot to mention that earlier on friday we stashed clementine and alice in our hostel room, and no one was any the wiser. win!
we took a streetcar back to the hostel, alice went to do her own thing, everyone was on their way back downstairs, and all of a sudden farhaad decided to lay on the floor of the lobby! weirdo. i refused to lay down with him, and sat on a chair instead. alice came back, and found us. she laid down with farhaad, and the two of those sneaky buggers managed to get me down too. 5 AM lobby party!

alice and i realized we had to be at the convention again in 6 hours to get tattooed, and figured we better get to bed.
the next morning was sort of a nightmare, but we managed it alright. we made farhaad come to tim hortons with us. he refused to get a double double, i didn't understand.

eddie, alice, and i spent the afternoon getting tattooed. my artist was awesome and quick (ryan mason from scapegoat tattoo in portland) and a total babe, p.s. i finished quicker than the other two, and hung out with marla for a bit. farhaad and some of the other girls came back from having sushi, and we said our sad goodbyes to farhaad. he is real bad at goodbyes. i found some of the other girls, and went to have a nap up in katrina's room.
we found porcelain, charity, and swindle already in the room, and no napping was done, but good times were had! i love those ladies. charity and porcelain had a bum race, i tried to videotape it but i failed. we listened to silly songs, looked at hot videos, and charity straightened my hair.
here is swindle's bum, and a unicorn.

there was a crazy intense storm outside, it was fun to watch from their high up room, and when it passed we headed out to the final after party. lots of fun was had.

i hate sad goodbyes, but there were many to be had. all of the amazing girls that i got to spend the weekend with headed out. SAD FACE. i love all of them.
the rest of the week was pretty fun but overall uneventful. we went shopping, walking, and had a great photoshoot with healing heart designs. the final day, we went out after the photoshoot with becca (of healing heart) and erica (of purrfect pineapples) and had a really expensive but pretty good meal at this vegan restaurant called fresh. lots of prepared vegan food makes my tummy upset, but it was definitely worth it, especially the vegan carrot cake. YUM. my friend hannah came out to the dinner too, which was really nice because i almost didn't get to see her. i wish that i got a picture with her, she is a babe and a half!
we went back to the hostel, packed, and got ready to go.
the morning was rushed, and poor eddie missed her flight home.
i did nothing on the flight, and we were all beat when we got back. amythia's boy chris was nice enough to drive me home from the 'port, and i got home and had a fun filled day of doing nothing.
since then i have been back at work, and not doing much else productive.
anyways, i really really really love all the amazing women that i got to meet at the convention. each and every one of them is unbelieveable.
now i am tired from writing this stupid blog. i hope you enjoyed it!
xoxo
