obviously two of the hottest girls around makes it a bit easy on my part to create something beautiful. i really enjoy creating a mood. the subtlety and frailty of a first encounter. this was, i believe, their second set of the night. the first one being the blue set where they basically went wild on each other. i asked them to tone it down a bit for this one. trying to recreate that intimacy we all feel when were with someone close. maybe a little of that apprehension and butterfly in the stomach feeling of getting that close to someone you feel a strong attraction for. so yeah, mood. i love moody work. these are again, free flats from the GG compound. two slick 4X8 sheets. im not sure what theyre called but they've got a reflective coating. someone earlier made a comment that they thought it was mirrors. very close cause as the coating provides a mirrored effect. i placed a 8 foot tall fluorescent light fixture behind them. and another 4 foot fluorescent fixture in front of them. if you hadnt noticed im a fan of the fluorescents. again, i found the 8 foot fixture on craigslist. some store was putting in new fixtures and they told me i could come by and take their old ones. i filled my pick up truck almost 6 feet high. there was no way to stack them properly as they were all shaped differently. not to mention i was the only one to load them and theyre fuckin heavy. so i did my best and got maybe a dozen fixtures. ohhhh, i just remembered, it was also all haphazard cause i had a load of sand underneath it all from a previous pick up. anyhow i load the truck up and im ready to go and the guy says, "you dont wanna take the bulbs that go with it?". and like an idiot i say ... "of course i want them". so i started finding little crevices to slide the tubes into. some on top that were held by some stray wire they had laying around. so im all loaded up. this load is basically asking to fall off the back of the truck. half way home, some of the tubes fell. luckily no one was behind me at the time. from then on i think i went about 10 miles an hour, all the way home. all though this was the worst load ive carried, it was close to it. but its all in the name of art! :)
