Lauren
Mark, Kristen, and I have been at the Ambrotypes.... 07/08/08 07:55 pm pst
Listening to:

So, here I am, still in Denver, and Kristen and Mark have been working hard to perfect their collodion wet plate processes.  Here are some that Kristen has taken of me:

In other news, Kristen and I went shopping at the Buffalo Exchange, today, and I got two of THE COOLEST pairs of pumps... ever.  In my size.  Coolest ever.  In sizes 5 and 5 1/2... seriously.  This is unheard of.  If schools were still in session in July, I would say that kids should have off of school every year on July 7th to celebrate the the day I found two insanely amazing pairs of pumps in the same store, within the same ten minutes, in my incredibly small size, and sooo cheap.  Instead, I will say that kids in summer school should have off in order to celebrate....  I also found some very awesome clothing, but while that is sweet, it is not unheard of.

In... more other news, my boyfriend found a new job in Times Square.  And he has off on Saturday, so he can totally still pick me up from the airport.  Sweet deal.  I love my boyfriend.  This is the first relationship I've ever been in that I've felt like I have a lot of improving do to for.  And... thinking back, I think that it IS the only one that I have ever had a lot of improving to do for.  The other guys I've dated have just, well, sucked, I guess.  That left me putting lots of effort into the relationships and them... sucking.  I'm not saying that I was by any means perfect, but we definitely were never EQUALS as far as need for improvement went.  Here, I feel like both of us need to learn and improve at about the same level (maybe even more on my end...) and both of us are conscious of it... or always further becoming that way.  We take a lot of steps backwards, along our atypical route, but in the end I think we always end up ahead.  This is some random photo of him, by the way.  It's an old photo (that someone else took and I stole) and he has cooler hair, now, but I really like it....

i love the look of those pictures, but even just the name of the process sounds way too complicated for the average joe.

Haha, yeah, they're pretty intense. Not many people have the equipment to make them anymore, since they were mostly made back in the 1860s. We've been making some more, everyday, trying to work out the kinks.

And you were in Denver???  I actually work about 5 blocks East of Buffalo Exchange.  Too bad you didn't make it up there...
