Speaking of American film makers
Dear American directors,
stop remaking bad ass asian horror films into mediocre mtv style edits pop flicks.
The Ring was fine when it was Ringu and so forth.

(The latest movie to receive this treatment is "A Tale of two sisters"
now remade as " The Uninvited". There are perfectly not so awesome
films that need to be remade like George A Romero's Season of the
Witch. The most interesting movie out now~seemingly~ just may be
"The Reader" with Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes)
I ordered a book and it is on the way "Satanica Sexualis" (an encyclopedia on what else? Sex and the Devil of course, throughout literature,media, and history)
I recently re-watched Eyes Wide Shut and have been attempting to plumb the depths of the symbolism.
The music is fantastic and the film is visually stunning also.
Now enjoy Dmitri Shostakovich .....

You would think that these people have meetings where they would
brainstorm and actually think for themselves
, seriously who sits down and says; "Hey I know what lets remake a movie
that was already totally awesome to begin with!"

Oh my God. I love A Tale of Two Sisters. My boyfriend almost broke his TV when he first saw the Uninvited trailer. He loves Asian horror too D:

The American Businessman/Asian hooker analogy is damn funny and sadly right on.
If they try and remake Battle Royale someone is getting cut.

I have trouble imagining them being able to pull it off in America. Well, I mean, they'd never pull it off... But even so much as writing a modified screen play if they were to try to place it in America.

Ah you are so right about the asian film remakes!
It's absolutely doing my head in. Hollywood really has no original ideas anymore so they have to steal ones from BETTER filmmakers, and end up making them absolutely terrible!
I had heard about the Tale of Two Sisters remake a while back. Needless to say i won't be seeing it because the original was such an incredible psychological horror that it just cannot be re-done. Hollywood just doesn't get the subtlety of asian horror.
I've also heard terrifying rumours my favourite film of all time Lady Vengeance might be getting the Hollywood "treatment".
I may cry for weeks on end...
