Oh my goat! posted : 06/23/09 at 01:25pm pst listening to:Wax tailor- our dance

My new best friend is a goat named Cholo.

So I meant to post this stuff about a month ago; my apoligies that this is not really in "real time".

My good buddy Riley (not the GG... although she is adorable) had a birthday last month and there was a nice sized gathering of a bunch of my good friends at his parents place in Washington. They have this kickass house with three giant dogs, and bunch of chickens and ducks, a bee-farm, and most recently a new lamb and a baby goat. (Yes, pets.) For an animal geek like me, this is paradise. And OMG food. Have you had fresh eggs before? I mean really fresh? And in a potato salad? And made into deviled eggs? Well I did. Here's Riley and I ninja stealing some of it before eatin' time:

And me having more NOMS:

Anyway, back to my goat buddy, Cholo. Isn't he enchanting?

Again, Riley in the background. I'm pimping him out by the way ladies. He's an aspiring writer testing video games and living in the most punk rock house in Seattle. I know this is a bold statement, but believe me, you do not want to question it. I have stories. You do not want to go near there. He's hilarious. You know you want him.

Cholo got his name because he is still bottle feeding, and the only rubber nipple they had around that was the right size for him conveniently fit on top of a beer bottle. So Cholo nursed out of a dos equis bottle, hense the name. He is the cutest thing. I have proof:

Other awesome things:

1. Guardian Angel is the sweetest member ever. I have been the recipient of Wren and Swindle's recent photo prints thanks to him (Swindle actually sat in my mailbox for a few days because I don't check my mail enough and I WAS NOT EXPECTING IT! What a lovely surprise! I just got it this morning. Woot!) Anyway, Chris if you're reading this thank you ahead of time but I'm emailing you later today when I have the time to make it count. I don't rush my thank yous, and this week has been busy. Bare with me, darling. <3 <3 <3 You'll be hearing from me.

2. One of my favorite GG's ever is moving to P-town, and staying with me for a while. I don't know if it's public knowledge or not yet, so I won't say who, but I am so super stoked. Her arrival here will lead to many attractive shenanigans. Stay tuned.

3. My husband and I might have a date today. Tentative plan. More to follow? She's quite adorable; plays the banjo. :-)

Good times.

xoxo

Thank you. I don't even refer to it as a hat. I generally call it "hair 2" .

HOLY SHIT!!!  HOW IN THE HELL DID I MISS THIS BLOG, UNTIL JUST NOW!!!  I am so far behind on stuff.  I have been so busy.  SOOOORRY!!!

I am so glad you like the pictures of Wren and Swindle!  I also got my own sets.  They were AWESOME pics!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for the fan pics!!!  They were really AWESOME!!!  I LOVE them!  <3  <3  <3

That goat is really cute!  BTW-  I spent most of my childhood growing up in the country, up in the mountains of West Virginia.  Some of our neighbors raised chickens and sold eggs, so we sometimes got our eggs from them.  There is no egg like an egg that was laid that morning!  Sometimes, I even went into the chicken coop and helped them gather the eggs that I was getting!  It doesn't get any fresher than that, right from under the chicken's ass!!!  LOL  :)

I had a friend with a farm and I would help him throw the bails of hay on the back of the truck, during the summer.  One time I went with him when he was killing a few of his cows to get different cuts of meat to eat some, freeze some for winter food supplies, and to sell some.  When he was grinding some of the beef into hamburger, he bagged a few pounds and let me take it home.  Those were the most incredible hamburgers that I have ever eaten in my LIFE!!!  It is amazing how much difference there is between store bought food and fresh meat straight off the hoof!!!  :)

We had about a 3 acre yard and we used about 1 acre of it for a garden.  I definitely ate plenty of FRESH corn, cucumbers, potatoes, beans, etc.

Sorry, but I like to "ramble" sometimes!  LOL
