good news:

had a wonderful time at the air show yesterday.  saw a jet-car race a plane, a wing-walker, and The Blue Angels.   Afterwards, we went over to my parents house to eat dinner (pot roast, mm) and play Yahtzee.  how wholesome, right? :)

they let us take an extra TV in the house back to our apartment, along with some plants (lettuce, beets I'm growing) and a toaster.

bad news:

when we were moving in the TV, we put it on the couch and left it there to install the next morning - and in the middle of the night, it somehow fell over onto the (glass) coffee table, breaking the coffee table in half.  (the TV is fine.)

so we need to replace the table.  and it's about $300+. 

it kinda sucks too, because we're renting and all - and just the fact that it's someone else's property makes me crazy.  i was really horrified last night but I'm a lot better this morning.   it's a thick piece of glass that broke (the glass table top), but the table frame is okay - and there is a glass shop downtown I'm going to go see today with a sample of the table top to see if they can give me an estimate. 
oh well.  glass breaks. 
that's why they have glass shops.
