i am making a list. Here are good cities to live in vs. bad cities to live in. This is in preparation for my upcoming life.
YES
New Orleans (kind of Parisian, good vegan food, make tons of money)
San Francisco (a little cold for me, but really awesome.)
Austin (i live here now. its fantastic, but i dont make a lot of money)
Nashville (......really?)
Portland (ive never been here but i know i love it already)
Philadelphia (govindas)
MAYBE
New York (i grew up 15 miles from here. im over the shitty weather)
Los Angeles (best food in the US. Some of the best people I have ever met. Also, some of the shittiest. Tired of competing with my friends.)
Vancouver (I dont like Canada, but I like hot lesbians and going whale watching.)
Memphis (Graceland, homeless people, and vegan cornbread...also, lots of haunted places)
NO
Houston (fat)
Detroit (ugly and cold)
Oklahoma City (no.)
St Louis (sorry abi. this place is the pits.)
Miami (or anywhere else in Florida)

Neenah, WI people are the best folks i have ever met and will go way way way way out of their way to help you out
Spokane, WA Met a fantastic group of people there and the greatest local hang i have come across yet, Mootsys
Cincinatti, OH and surrounding areas, great party scene, casino right next door essentially called the Argosy in Lawrenceburg,IN, Newport,KY is right there too!!!

I disagree on LA having the best food ever. San Francisco has the best food ever, if only because I am here making it. :)

I LOVE how two places you listed on the yes and maybe list were in Tennessee. You should soooo come down here.

Nawlens would be great until it's under water again. I'd stay away from it with the hot weather we are getting in the gulf.
My vote would be for San Fran (sans earthquakes, of course), Vancouver, and Portland (in that order I think).
Really, in Florida, there's not too many places... Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville... out of those, I'd pick Tampa (and not just because I live here). Miami is too artificial (in my opinion), Orlando has WAY TOO MANY tourists. I always wanna run em over when im there for anything. Ft. Lauderdale ... same boat as Miami. Jacksonville wouldnt be too bad, but I dont think theres too many things to do there. I could be wrong.
Have a friend who just moved to Nashville not too long ago and they like it, but not as much as Tampa.

San Francisco or LA, so that I'll have another excuse to visit California!

Don't hate on Canada!!!! There are plenty of hot chicks but it's also a beautiful place to live, there is so much more to do than whale watching... Plus Vancouver and Vancouver Island have plenty of Vegan eateries and stores etc...

i live in new orleans i love it!
Alexandra
come to vancouver.

San francisco is beautiful but can get expensive fast. The weather isn't really bad at all. Everyone I know who lives up in Portland absolutely loves it, but everyone I know up there is also a hipster.

Having lived in and been raised near OKC, I have to hardcore agree with you about what a sinkhole it is. Shit's played, yo.

i'd have to disagree with STL in the no. maybe, maybe? it's not THAT bad ;)
i'd also have to say that memphis was one of the most amazing places i've visited in a long time. not sure what it was about it, but it was just amazing. however, it's your list.... just my opinion on the subject :D

c'mon now... canada ain't that bad. then again, i'm ditchin' the west coast (unless it's san francisco, i'm just not down) after only a couple months here, waiting on paperwork to move back to nyc. so i guess i can't really inspire you to head canada way when i'm about to bail on it!

I am going on vacation next week to Pensacola, FL and am making my way over to New Orleans for the 12th, 13th and maybe 14th. I am hoping to see some burlesque/dance shows and maybe get a tattoo. I would love to see you naked, where are you working?
