We always tend to take people's company for granted, when it can be easily gone before you know it.

Personally I disagree with the reason you mentioned above (regarding your boyfriend); ideally I think you should not be letting other people decide your involvement in GG. But don't let that bother you. For all I know it might be worth the tradeoff in the long run (as I don't know your personal situation). Or it might not. Who knows where things will go...
