This morning I slept through class and was all superbly bummed out when I rolled out of bed and sat down in front of my computer, thinking about the fact that I'm going to have to drop classes and I'll never ever finish school and will always be a bartender blahblahblahwhinewhinewhine.
But then I ventured over to godsgirls and saw myself on the front page!
My first set is up and you guys have completely made my day with comments! You're all so sweet!
So thank you godsgirls and members for totally turning my day from completely bummy to completely fantastic!!
And now for an update on my life:
First of all, I love my new job. I'm a bar tender in a hotel bar and it's so much fun. I'm still learning the ropes of bar tending and have a few minor freak outs when someone orders a drink I don't know how to make, but working behind the bar is better than any other job I've had. And the monies makes it even more awesome.
I've been spending a significant amount of my time shooting a local movie and have two more lined up as well as a play with gg member/best frand Hunnahh. The movie thing is so new to me. Calling on those emotions in a room where people that aren't acting alongside you are two and three feet away is so bizarre. It's so hard to tell whether or not I'm doing a good job. There's no audience to gratify me with applause.
School is not going so well, but I'm just going to make peace with it, drop my classes, pay back the money I borrowed from the government and wait until I move to get back in classes.
And yes, I did say I'm moving. It's mostly that fishbowl town mindset. Feeling trapped in past mistakes and a going-nowhere-ness. I just feel it's time for me to break out and do something positive for myself. I have a few ideas of where I might move to:
Nashville, TN because my best friend in the whole world lives there and she is the second half of my soul.
Asheville, NC because I looove Asheville. There's so much to do there and so many awesome people (such as gg member Farren! Who is my favorite drunk dialer evar!)
Columbus, OH becauseofaboy ... a really amazing, adorable, attentive, interesting, snuggly boy named Kansas who also happens to be a member on the site.
He came to visit me for six days and I sort of fell in like with him.
And before you say anything, Ohio becauseofaboy is no worse than Nashville because of a friend.
It's a bigger city.
A new experience.
And at this point, I'm up for anything other than this small town.
I have tons to do today.
Birthday lunch for my granny who is 72. (I hope I have her genes. She does not look her age AT ALL).
Lots of bills to be paid today.
Shooting the final scene the the film.

mostly I went "fuck this red light" for about 7 minutes and then you convinced me to run it.
.... which I did.

I has uber convincing skills. I once talked a girl from across the street to come jump in a bush with me, I had no clue who she was but she did it and then I talked a guy at this burger joint to give me free food, all in all I rock.

I didn't like Nashville that much when I was younger (I was used to a big city like Chicago) but it has grown on me the longer I'm here. If you make it down this way again to visit your friend, let us here know and we'll go out drinking one night!

I'm definitely coming to Murfeesboro in the very near future (possibly Halloween) to visit my friend.

Right on. I'm actually in the MTSU campus library in murfreesboro right now. I lived here for 4 or 5 years before I moved closer to Nashville about a year ago so it wasn't so far to drive all the time. Just a couple more classes and I can stop driving out here twice a week!

MTSU is a pretty neat campus. It's one of the schools I'm thinking of ending up at. If I, in fact, ever end up at a 4 year at all.

Yea, they've done a lot of work on it over the years, its really nice now. What major(s) are you thinking about?

right now I'm a theater major, but once I transfer to a 4 year I will be a journalism/english major.

Awesome, i gave up my art stuff a while back for computer science. I don't really ever want to write code but by the time i figured it out it was almost too late. Its the quickest way for me to finish at this point. Oh well, Ill just be glad when I have the piece of paper.

Well, despite the fact that my friend that lives there is one of the most kindred spirits I know, I really wasn't too impressed with the place. Way too commercial and concrete for me.

My gingerness didn't help. I spent two hours at the beach with the highest SPF I could find and still got burnt so bad I couldn't lay down without going "oooowwww".
I even put it on an hour before I went in the water.
