this is again another journey into meshing my work with the theme of godsgirls. i believe this was the first set brie and i shot that day. she had a lot of colorful clothing so i had a lot to work with. i decided to break out some relics of my past. yes, those records are mine, and have been for all my life. as a child i used to sing a long to them .... "rubber ducky youre the one, that makes bathtime so much fun". and in some perverse way ive reintoduced them to a new generation via a nudey site. there are things that happen early on in your life that change you forever. subtle things. that creep into your subconscious and later show themselves as if to remind you that all the small things matter. the colors of these records had an affect on me. they are one of the many reasons i use vibrant color in my work. another reason that only a few people know is that im color blind. i have to ask people if an item is black, dark brown, or dark blue. so i gravitate to vibrant color because its easily readable to me. its those little things that make photography so enjoyable, watching things that have touched me manifest themselves in a photograph that will in turn affect someone elses reality. another bit i enjoyed about this set was the way the yellow backlight aligned itself through one of the holes in the back on the record player to shine through producing a flare in the lens. happy accidents.
