This trip to New York has definately been interesting, but not necessarily in a good way.  It's been a really long and expensive trip, and I'm not entirely sure that it was worth it to be honest.  I'm fairly certain that New York hates me.

It all started out with a parking ticket.  That's how my day began yesterday.  That was a sign from the universe that things were not going to go smoothly, but I overlooked it.  Stupid of me.  Then we got really delayed leaving Toronto for about a million small reasons that added up to about a 2 hour delay.  Then we ignored the most blatantly obvious signal of them all.  The border crossing.

The border hated us.  Apparently we look shifty and might be smuggling narcotics into the states?  We got held up at the border for a really long time while they asked us a hundred million questions and then made us get out of the car while they searched it.  Awesome.  It took us 8 hours to get to Manhattan from the border.  In total, it was longer than 10 hours to get here.  Plus the time I was on the road before leaving... going to school to drop stuff off, coming back, picking up Wren, picking up Aria... I basically spent all of yesterday in a car.  From 8:30 am to midnight.  Yuck.

The party was... well, really, we didn't fit in.  I'm not going to go on and on about this, but suffice it to say that the people there could not have cared less about GodsGirls and would definately not be the types to ever buy a membership.  Ever.

Aoki took us to another place called Trash, but by the time we got there (3:30 am) I was SO tired.  I was ready to sleep at 11.  All I wanted was a bed.  I tried to tough it out, but I basically sat around yawning and trying to keep my eyes open, and when everyone left there to go eat, I made my way to the car with Aria for a nap. 

Now we are at Wren's friend's apartment in Brooklyn.  Aria and Wren are passed out and I have been up for the last 2 hours, and I'm bored and I feel awkward in this stranger's house (she's not even here), and I kind of want to hit the road because I know it's going to take us forever to get home and my cats are hungry and I miss Toronto and New York hates me, but I also know that they want to do some shopping and stuff when they get up and I can understand that because it's been a long trip not to do any of that kind of stuff.

So yeah.  I didn't mean to be so whiny but I started typing and it just sort of came out.  Let me be more positive...  I love Wren and Aria, and I'm glad they came with me, even if this trip wasn't exactly without a hitch.  Gina is adorable, Aoki is super nice and perky, and Catra... well, Catra was everything I dreamed and more!  I love her.  I think I said maybe 5 words to her all night, but that was expected.  I love her.
