I haven't had much time to update since I got back from LA. The first day I got there Farhaad picked me up from the airport and we went to Annaliese's. She made some yummy veggie burgers with all the fixins. The next day Farhaad came by and we went to California Vegan. After that we drove around looking for dunks. That night Annaliese, Andrew, Amanny and I (the lesser known A-team) went to the Roosevelt. Andrew played in the pool and made friends while Annaliese and I lounged. We met some annoying people that night including the guy who thought he was European or gay and James, who would not shut up and followed us around. Annaliese and Andrew ate perfect looking burgers at 25 degrees before we went home.

Annaliese and Andrew are in love.

Annoying guy.

The burger.

I shot with Matthew the next day and that was pretty fun. We shot some really cool sets that I'm excited to see. The day after that I went to Pasadena and shopped a bit. I bought some really cute shorts at H&M and some at Sephora that I can't get in Canada. Farhaad and I hung out the next day but we still didn't find shoes, sadly.

The next day was Saturday and I shot with Kelly and Charlie. We drove around Santa Monica flashing people and trying to find a place to shoot. We shot some really fun sets including a clown set and a Friday the 13th set. The next day was Sunday and that was the day I left. I relaxed for a bit with Amanny and we went to the Mexican restaurant down the street so I could get one last horchata before my flight home. My flight connecting flight was delayed in Boston and then once I got to Buffalo I had to wait around for the bus to Toronto. After this trip, I have been in Buffalo, Cleveland, LA, Boston and I have spent quite enough time in airports for awhile.
I meant to post this yesterday

This is no longer current... until the end part.

I am currently sitting in the LAX airport waiting for Farhaad to pick me up. There’s no free wireless connection here and I refuse to pay $10 an hour or whatever they charge so I’m typing this ahead of time. I want to update you on my journey so far. I was telling some of the girl’s last night that I was not looking forward to this trip because sometimes I hate traveling and this time would be one of them. I think it was the whole stress of not having enough time to make sure that I was prepared and having to pack at the last minute. I always like being prepared, making lists of what I need and double-checking everything but this time around there was none of that so I just felt uneasy. Also because I have never made the trip to LA so it was unfamiliar to me and I was not confident about taking this bus to the Buffalo Airport, which only cost me $1 by the way.

So far it has been relatively smooth aside from almost missing my bus this morning due to a moronic cab driver and bad traffic, falling asleep on the bus and almost waking up in Manhattan (or midway there). Luckily I woke up just as we were pulling away from the Buffalo Airport and the driver was really nice about turning around to drop me off. Once I got to the airport things got better. The lady at the Continental desk got me on an earlier flight to Cleveland since I was at the airport super early and put me on standby for an earlier flight to LA. When I got to Cleveland I checked in and I was able to get on the earlier flight, which was much better than my previous flight that had me sitting around at the Buffalo Airport for 6 hours and getting to LA at 10:50pm instead of 7pm.

I am currently sitting on Annaliese's couch with Farhaad watching the basketball game. Boston is going to close it out tonight and it will be awesome. Farhaad and I drove around today looking for shoes. We ate lunch at California Vegan and it was  really good. I need these shoes like crazy...

Farhaad and I will continue the hunt on Thursday.

I'm shooting with Matthew tomorrow and it should be fun but it's probably going to be a long day. Thursday and Friday I'll be around so if you're in LA then let me know!

I'm taking a psych course and I read in my text book that elevated levels of stress hormones degrades your hippocampus (the part of your brain that deals with your memory). Meaning that if you have high levels of stress or prolonged stress then later on in life you will have a poor memory, one of the many reasons why stressed out people need to learn to deal somehow and chill out ^______^

It's really hot here today, apparently it's the same temp here as it is in Sao Paulo. I'm enjoying it though because it's been super rainy lately so it's a nice break.

I made the most delicious cupcakes yesterday and I wish I could make one for each person that reads this but sadly I can't but it's the thought that counts.

If you haven't done so already then you must go and vote for my DIY in the best DIY evar contest! I'm losing by two votes and I will be lost in life if I don't win!!!! (well not really, but you should vote anyway ^____^)

The NIX tattoo convention in Toronto is coming up close. I'm so excited to see all the ladies from last year and all the new ladies that are coming this year, it's going to be so much fun! After the convention I'm flying to LA to shoot. I'm shooting with a pretty lady named Charlie and I'm stoked. She has a new set up right now and I must say that it's pretty damn awesome.

I have to keep this short because I am in dire need of rest. Who else is excited for the NBA finals??? I think it's going to be LA...

I am totally enthralled by stumbleupon.com. If you haven't heard of this you need to check it out. Basically, it's this plug-in for Firefox that you download and it installs a toolbar in your browser that has various buttons that serve their own special purpose but the most important is the stumble button. When you install it you are asked to set up your preferences so when you click the stumble button the browser returns a page result based on your preferences and voila! you have now discovered something really cool that you may not have discovered through regular browsing. I found so many new sites using it. My favourite to date is www.passiveaggressivenotes.com.

I was reading my psychology textbook today and the chapter that I read was about studying behaviour scientifically. It had a section about the behavioural phenomenon called bystander apathy. I had read something about this before in an article about a woman named Kitty Genovese who was beaten and raped in the courtyard at her apartment building in Harlem while 38 of her neighbours looked on. Nobody did anything to help her, probably because they thought since there were so many other people that saw then another person had probably called the police. It's been reasoned through research that the presence of multiple bystanders produces a diffusion of responsibility, in which each person feels less responsible to intervene. One of the stories that was in the section really disturbed me, it was a similar incident that took place not that long ago in Detroit. I don't really feel like typing out the story but if you're interested you should read this http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-17414493.html

I have to get back to watching b-ball now!

I finished school for the summer and I'm pretty relieved. This past semester was pretty brutal and I had multiple breakdowns complete with thoughts of self-doubt but I got through it. I got my marks back today and I was a bit disappointed but overall I'm happy with the outcome. I learned that it's a bad idea to try to learn a language along with trying to learn statistics, genetics and cell biology. I am taking two on-line classes, psych and ecology, through the summer because I just can't get enough of school >.< haha... I'm also writing the MCAT at the end of the summer, which is the standardized medical application test for all med students, and I need to study my ass off for that so I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to spend the month of August doing.

My plans for this summer consist of going to LA in June, the convention and hopefully I have time to do some camping because I'm also working two jobs, one being at the veterinary emergency clinic with a doctor who is also a professor at my school. I haven't actually met him yet so I've been considering taking out my lip ring before I start with him because I want to make a really good impression and he could be a really good referral for when I apply to vet school. Although it sucks, I know that some people don't take me seriously because I have facial piercings and it's hard enough to get in to vet school as it is so I really don't want to make it that much harder for myself. Decisions decisions...

Not much else is new. The Raptors played an amazing game last night and it was really fun to watch. They're trailing in the series 1-2 but I think they can win tomorrow. I dyed my hair last month but I didn't have any time to post a picture so here is one now:

Sooo tired. I have been studying non-stop today and my brain decided that it had enough. I'm really hoping to coax it into taking in a bit more info tonight by resting for a bit and eating food. I have a cell biology exam tomorrow that's worth 60% of my mark so I'm a bit stressed but hopefully I can feel confident by the end of the night and be able to chill tomorrow morning.

I turned 26 yesterday and my bf surprised me with Raptors tickets. The game was so much fun and I got drunk off of one beer because I was so burnt from being in the library all day but I kind of appreciated that since the beer was $10.

Anyway, I need to go finish my spaghetti and shower. I promise a lengthy, rambling update next week after I am done all my exams.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who looked at my set and left me some love. I wish I could send you all a message personally thanking you but I have zero time right now because of school (think... I almost forgot to eat today and I definitely didn't shower for four days). I do sincerely appreciate it and I must admit that those comments made me feel pretty amazing on a relatively blah day so thank you . Anyway, it's almost over now, I have a midterm tomorrow and one next Tuesday. Yay!

Since I am sending Miller a love letter I thought I would send some other ones out too so if you are interested please message me with your address and I will send some out mid-April after my exams. Fun!

Today is the most beautiful day so far this year, I think spring is almost here and that makes me one happy lady. I like all seasons and I appreciate them for what they are but now that it's almost April I am ready for sunshine and flowers. I bought a really cute jacket yesterday for a bargain. It's light green and looks kind of like a painter's smock or like Madeline's coat from that cartoon... you know what I'm talking about, that little French girl in the orphanage. I am going to be holed up in the library this week so I won't be around much. I have two midterms this week and one more next week, then I have finals a week after that. eep... but after that I am done for the summer and I cannot wait. I have really great news though, I have a set going up tomorrow that is pretty damn amazing so I'm stoked about that. I hope you all like it!

I have a cold and my nose is all stuffed up. I feel pretty gross but soup is a lot better when I'm sick and I don't feel so bad sleeping in because I have an excuse. I have spent the better part of the day watching basketball, talking to Annaliese and having sex, it's been pretty good so far. It has also stopped shitting snow so I'm pretty happy about that since it seemed like it wouldn't ever stop.

I bought these rubber boots the other day.

It gets all gross and muddy here in spring so I definitely needed them (I always need to make myself feel justified in spending money). The boots that I have been wearing weren't cutting it since they aren't water proof and I ripped the liner in one boot but I blame whiskey for that.

I really want these http://www.nike.com/nikeskateboarding/v3/?#shoes/view/13142
I'm going to get someone to buy them for me for my birthday. It's in a month from now so I am allowed to start talking about it.

Ok... it's sushi time. Hopefully you are all splendid today and aren't sick like me.
