Nelson Road Kings: Queen City Cruise

I got off school and ran to Baker Street where the Nelson Road Kings where having their Queen City Cruise.  I'm not good at explaining, but the sun was so bright, I took a great deal of photos. Don't ask me what cars are what, I've never cared about car lingo/jargon.  But I enjoyed trying to take really nice photos of the shiny cars!

The A&W car.

Ok, so this white car is by far my favorite one there.  The details where the best.  I liked looking at the external and the internal parts of the vehicle, while other cars seemed to be lacking in one or the other.  Of course I have no idea what is in the hood.  But IMHO, when you have a car like this, it's got to be all for looks.  Though I'm sure car people would drool about the engine parts just as I drool on the spider decal.

I won't mind driving this trunk.  It's cute, but got masculinity to it.  A tough boys car that isn't too obviously a big-balls truck.

The color of this car is stunning.  reminds me of underwater gradients.  When one looks up into the sun from under water.

I was slightly surprised and let down at the lack of pin up content in this car show.  Pin up/model culture is pretty major in the car scene.  In the oldies, and even now with import models and race cars.  This was the only image I could find!  I like it though.  Instead of "lucky ##" it's "topless ##".  And that's just fun.  Topless is fun.

Um... so not so nice and shiney as a buffed up car.  But I made such a yummy, pretty and healthy lunch I had to take a picture of it for some reason.  A classmate works on a farm and so  those tomatoes are farm fresh, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with lemon pepper and basil.  A basic ham and cheese sandwich that I should have toasted.  And miso soup.  It was a yummy, late lunch for me.

Today I'm going to be meeting the girls from school to go to the hot springs.  I made a post in a Gods Girls only forum, and I mentioned that I am not used to hanging out with a large group of girls.  I prefer males.  But I think I get a long well with my class mates.  Either that I feel like I have to get along with them because we do group training sessions and we have to spend many motnhs together, or that because these girls... ladies... and women all share some kind of... personal drive towards art and therapy, that I can get a long with these females.

Then after the hot springs, I'm supposed to celebrate my friend's birthday, who already hurt him self.  He was going too fast on a long board and now he's on crutches for atleast 5 weeks.  What a great way to celebrate your birthday, start school, and also start living in a new place.

I'm going to give him a call in a bit, I have to organize my cell phone.  Got a Nelson phone number and changed my plan.  Can't wait to add Chris to my Fave 5 and phone him ALL THE TIME.

I miss home still.  One of the boys I respite/worked with sent me an email through him mom's email and instead of making me sad about he kept talking about me and missing me, I felt happy.  I've made some kind of a connection with him.  I don't think he often does this to people he likes/works with.  I miss him too!

Be well all,
Amythia

PS: Internet Random Commence:

My new inspiration:

Richard Wawro (1952-2006): Scottish Artist, Autistic Savant.  Sold over 1000 drawings made with crayon.  The growth, development and detail to light in his drawings are proof that having an autistic spectrum disorder is not a hinderance in the growth of a person emotionally, or intellectually.  What he has acheived in his drawings, artistis only hope to achieve when they go to art college.  In seeing the world, and also other art, around him, he drew his own experience, perception, and understanding of the world.  Seeing his drawings in chronological order is a typical growth of a learning artist.  And he did it all by him self.  He saw, and he drew.

Beautiful interior design.  Art decal on the floor.

The Fusion.  It's interesting to realize that intuitive, spontateous sexual positions that I have done before have already been documented in the Karma Sutra.
Self reflection. I love Nelson.

The view from my school classroom window.

A close up of the mountain that is across the water from my class room window.

All my books.  All 508.00 dollars of it.

School has been quite a journey.  I've changed.  As a person.  Doing the 4 days of art therapy training has affected so much.  I think it brought out a lot in my self that I was too lazy to bring out.  Lots of self reflection and how I am.  There will be two years of this.  And I am so fucking ready to rip into it.  I feel very content and happy with my self.  Truely happy.  I don't know if it's living in Nelson, or just living in a new place in general.  Or maybe it's the art therapy training.  Maybe it's the people I'm meeting.  Maybe it's the quartz crystal that is rumored to be filling the earth underneath the city.

Maybe there's a unicorn nearby in the mountain forests...  I'm definitely more at peace with my self and that is a very, very magical thing for me.

Some times in the past 4 days I find my self bubbling up with so much happiness and joy that I feel my throat tense with tears!

I hope that some of you have felt this in your own spaces in the world... I've felt like this has been a year of drastic change.  People have died, people have changed, people have been born.  2008 will be a year that I will often come back to in reflections of milestones in my life.  And if the collective conscious is at work, I hope that some of you, and all of you are feeling some residue of this feeling have.  Or maybe you helped manifest it and I am the one feeling the residue.

Be well,
-Amythia

In purple of course.

My friend posted up his music and the website is so dead on with the emotion of music he produces.  He's also one of my fave photographers I shoot with.  It's called downcast.  Click little thumbnail below.

Principles of Unschooling:

  • Learning happens all the time. The brain never stops working and it is not possible to divide time up into "learning periods" versus "non-learning periods." Everything that goes on around a person, everything they hear, see, touch, smell, and taste, results in learning of some kind.

  • Learning does not require coercion. In fact, learning cannot really be forced against someone's will. Coercion feels bad and creates resistance.

  • Learning feels good. It is satisfying and intrinsically rewarding. Irrelevant rewards can have unintended side effects that do not support learning.

  • Learning stops when a person is confused. All learning must build on what is already known.

  • Learning becomes difficult when a person is convinced that learning is difficult. Unfortunately, most teaching methods assume learning is difficult and that lesson is the one that is really "taught" to the students.

  • Learning must be meaningful. When a person doesn't see the point, when they don't know how the information relates or is useful in "the real world," then the learning is superficial and temporary - not "real" learning.

  • Learning is often incidental. This means that we learn while engaged in activities that we enjoy for their own sakes and the learning happens as a sort of "side benefit."

  • Learning is often a social activity, not something that happens in isolation from others. We learn from other people who have the skills and knowledge we're interested in and who let us learn from them in a variety of ways.

  • We don't have to be tested to find out what we've learned. The learning will be demonstrated as we use new skills and talk knowledgeably about a topic,

  • Feelings and intellect are not in opposition and not even separate things. All learning involves the emotions, as well as the intellect.

  • Learning requires a sense of safety. Fear blocks learning. Shame and embarrassment, stress and anxiety - these block learning.

I miss my lover and my cat already.

He sent me this picture yesterday.  Made me cry and I cried a lot last night.

But I had my first day of school today and that really put my energy in a positive space.  I'm really excited to be focused on school again.
This is fucking disgusting

Here's a cute video to make you feel better.  It's kind of cruel to kitties... but in a cute way.  I swear.    It's like when you spin your cat on the kitchen floor.  So mean but so funny...

Hope that made you better.  Watch it til the very end!

FYI I turn into a unicorn later today...

Just your friendly neighborhood unicorn.
Somewhat friendly.

Ok I'm not that friendly but I don't bite.
Not hard.

K, I just look pretty.
You might want to stay away from me otherwise.

So this is my first weekend in Nelson, BC.  The city I will be living in for the next year at least.  I took a bunch of pictures today.  I shaved my head, took a walk around my town, enjoyed my garden, and found a gay pride parade.

I shaved my head.  Sorry I did not do a DIY with that dyed part.  And I don't think I ever want to dye the sides of my hair again, it was horrible because the bleach had to stay on my scalp for a while.  Chris shaved it for me with his clippers.  He kept blowing the hair off and I could feel it on my bare head...  And it kept feeling like there was bugs on it when my hair would stick on the freshly shaven hair.

And oh yeah I'm all moved in.  That picture is of me in my new room!  Here's some photos of my new space!

My land lady is awesome not only did she fully stock my kitchen for me, but she gave me these flowers (I love the color.. PURPLE!), and they look beautiful beside my hoop.

And this is where I will sit when I geek!  I'll probably bring my lap top to my bedroom on my bed too.  I'll hopefully get a lot of studying done actually... :)

Bed.

Stuffies.

Toys.

View from the window above my bed.  Yes it's a basement suite.  I love it. It's nice and cool right now.  I wonder how I will fare in the winter... My nice land lady gave me a space heater... which I have yet to find.

My mommy made this for me.  I'm not Christian, but it's the cutest saying ever.  It's on my front door with in the house.  So the land lady can see it when she goes downstairs to do her laundry.

I have a hammock in my backyard.  Sadly Chris won't be in it often, he's going back to Calgary tomorrow morning... I'm going to miss him a lot...

And now a shit load of photos from the garden in the backyard:

Phew... that's a beautiful garden. I can't wait to spend time in there.

Chris stand beside awesome tree.

Awesome mountain views every where.

Court house.

Chris takes a phone call in front of the court house.

Very yummy raw, organic foods and ingredients.

Yum! Desserts! This place is just outside of my school. Bad news? Good news? I'm hungry just thinking of it...

And we caught the Gay Pride Parade just as it was launching. It was pretty fucking awesome. I like OWLs. A lot. I need some OWL loving in my life...

Mmm bum.

This lady is dazzling.

Yes, a not-crazy cat lady.

I totally would love to do this when I'm too old to run around at raves and being naked for the camera.

By the way, I am completely moved in, I'll post pictures of my new place soon and get some DIY shoots going. I have one large mirror, but I think I have to find another one, or bring one in from home.

The pace in Nelson is perfect for me, and the sun wakes me up early because of the large windows in my bed room. Everything is so relaxed and even I feel relaxed and chill the moment I got here. There is no rush for anything and I feel very calm and some what energized at the same time. I hear there are quartz crystals in the ground, and that the natives never lived in this area for that reason. they would come here for healing, but never live here for a long time for they might go crazy.

A friend told me that clear quartz crystal magnifies energies of other stones and other things around it. So Nelson is one big magnified valley in the mountains with a river... long lake? running right through it.

I can't wait to go hit the park by the water too.

I'm mostly packed.  And it's not looking like it will fit in the truck.  And it's not too promising considering I want to bring my bike and haven't packed art stuff yet...
Today I have a lot to do in terms of last minute running around.  And I'm not even done packing which I wanted to get done by last night.  I was up til 3am packing. *sigh*  I am too good at the last minute...  Ok let's get this entry done with and I won't be updating again til after I move to Nelson.

This will be a crazy photoblog cause I have photos galore I've been hoarding...

I'm going to be missing this cat.  Aphex.  Princess Aphex.  For those of you who do not know her she's a birthday present I bought for my fiance a couple of years ago.  She is quite a character.  In that pictures she's lying on a drawing I did of a fairy Jedi with a mohawk.  She was giving me a weird look.  Here's more photos of her.

This is technically another picture of Aphex...

Yes we are undressing.  And yes that is Livia and me in front of a hideous orange couch.  I had my second going away party and these are the picture that I some how got.  Oh yeah my friend Junelea took the pictures with my camera.  I was so drunk (but still no hang over to report the morning after).  I was walking around with my usual bottle of scotch.  Dingo bought it for me.

There is Lacey, she is undressing too... Where is this going??  There are some of my other friends in the background.  Sadly Farhaad (yes he was there), and Dingo were outside playing with a bike.  They missed this whole thing...  You can make fun of them later.  Post these pictures in their blog or something.

We demanding... I demanded that atleast five boys had to take their shirts off before we took ours off.  they came off FAST!  the 3 topless boys that we can see in this picture from left to right: Trevor, Khailin and Chris.

And yes, Marla Singer!  Sadly Eddie could not make it to the party to complete this family photo.  So there you have it, four pairs of Calgary Gods Girls breasts all in the row.  Yes, to remind you this happened at my goodbye party this weekend.  I know how to party.  Almost every one gets naked for me.

Want more pictures of us?

I was so drunk, I could not stop giggling.  Well any one sitting there on a couch of Gods Girls would probably giggle as well.  Sober or not!

This one needs a lolcat caption.  I have no idea what Lacey is doing to Livia's knees... "Frends dun let odder frends let thair nees go bad"...  I tried...  I'm not much of the lolcat maker.  I like looking at them.  So much that I followed the plurktimeline of IHAZCHEEZEBURGER.

We're looking quite charming here.  Our legs all crossed the same way.

That didn't last long.  Oh, Livia!

Trevor: Gods Boy.  He's hot.

Mike joined in too, he's in the right lower corner.  And there is Sarala blowing bubbles for us.  That was quite amusing!

Putting clothes back on.  Play time if over, let's drunk more.  Isn't Marla looking dapper?  She wears those dresses all the time on the weekends.

Yes so i got completely wasted.  It was a small party, but we all drank a lot of booze.  I showed Farhaad a good time and he got to hang out with Calgary GG.  He also got to meet dingo56, who he now called the dingmeister.

Dingo, Chris, Jesse and I went on a bike ride the next day, I had no hang over and felt wonderful.  It was about a 2 hour bike ride around a reservoire that is right by my house.  Here's a photo I took at the south end of it.

It was a great ride.  I'm going to miss riding with friends in Calgary.

Yeah this is kind of an odd photo to take.  Edda posted a journal entry and the first picture was of her on her bed, her entire attire matched her walls and this Polly Pocket she was playing with.  I posted this as a comment and figured I could post it here as well.  I have a big bag of Polly Pockets in a bag, and I intend to keep them all.  I'm going to bring this fairy one with me to Nelson.

So that's all the photos I have, I think.  There is not much else to report, so I'm going to post some things I've stumbledupon recently and then go pack before I have to run off to run around.  Farewell Calgary.

A massive, interactive zoetrope, Homouroboros only comes to life when participants determine the source of power generation and the controls to its activation.

Temple of Forgiveness, 2007. Photo by Perfecto Insecto.

Encompassing almost 42,000 cubic feet, the open-air temple had four grand entrances that led to the central altar, which allowed energy to pass though, up, and out–a metaphor for the sense of lightness felt after the act of forgiveness and all negative emotions are finally released.

Crude Awakening, 2007. Photo by John Curley.

Stirring controversy for its ironic use of 900 gallons of jet fuel and 2,000 gallons of liquid propane to build the largest flame cannon in history, Crude Awakening transformed modern oil dependency into a violently primitive religion.

It was great fun and I love the photos, they are super rocker, a side of me that does not really show up in photos.  I like this aspect of me.  I think a lot of photographers look for this kind of a feeling, a model who can portray their true wild side.  But I often manifest a different face for the camera.  I like being beautiful, mysterious and almost godly.  (I am a Gods Girl after all).

He is also a painter and we did a series of nude with these really cheesy toy guns.  I did not think much of it, I was not crazy about the idea but I felt compelled to give in.  And so he painted the pictures instead of editing the photos.  I'm glad he did them now.  Here they are:
