Apparently Portugal is the only place in Europe this week to have good weather and oh my god was it good... it was super sunny and super hot. I'm pasty as hell (my american family call me Dulux-White) so I had the Factor 85 sun cream out...It was just such beautiful warm summery weather :)
Porto (In Portugal) is the region famous for Port, which I loveee. It was so cheap! It used to be a weatlhy city till Port went out of fashion and now its decaying and falling apart. The buildings are all tall and skinny with intricate balconys, painted lots of pastel multicolours. Theyre half peeling away and crumbling down. A huge river runs down to the sea, which is full of long, old Port vessels. The streets are all cobbled and everyone is old and brown and wrinkley with moustaches. Yeah, even the ladies. Old people run that town.
The food was not great. Being a non meat eater (Fish only) I literally ate salted cod everyday of the week.. everything out there is covered in salt and they just havent heard of vegetables. By the end of the week we found a veggie restaurant which served the most incredible and cheap food and we pretty much lived there from then on.
I spent the week with my friends, drinking Sangria, lazing by the sea, traipsing up and down tiny little cobbled streets and drawing and painting on the pavements. I actually got lots of sketching done, I feel really good about it :)
Oh god Im going to hell.... I tripped up a blind man :( I was huddled on a pavement sketching out an old broken down hotel and a little old blind man came walking up behind me. I couoldnt see him because he was behind me and he couldnt see me cos.. well, he was blind. So this little old guy ploughs right into me and I literally fold in half. I didnt have a clue what was happening till his white cane went flying over my shoulder. The poor man litterally stacked it into the pavements in front of me, hurtling over my head. It was so mortifying. To make it worse, I couldnt speak Portugese, so I couldnt ask if he was okay or apologise. All I could do was lift him up, brush him off and send him silently on his way. My friends thought that was hilarious.
Now Im happy and tired out. I got in and we all caught up with Os, the housemate we left behind. That was really lovely. I miss my little house, I even miss the stench of weed in the curtains, and I dont smoke. We tried to cobble together a meal with what we had in the house- homemade chips with cheese, hula hoops, Oreos and mars bars and all sat about the table chatting and drinking Port. it was like little house on the Prairie or something...
I really wish i wasnt back. i havnt felt this chilled out in ages, or this content. I miss the sunshine and the Cafe Boheme. But I guess Its good to be home. Its retarded how even when the plane touched down and all I could see was muddy browns, murky greens and a thousands shades of grey I still feel like Im Home, and no matter what ive left and despite the sheets of rain and the bitter cold, it feels good. Im such a home bird.
Spent the afternoon watching Ladislad Starewicz animations. Considering they were made in the 1930s theyre just amazing- so beautiful, and funny, and macabre. Heres a clip from the beginning of one. Check it out-
Os mixed it with some Mogwai and cut it up a bit, and that looked totally awesome. Im totally into it at the moment
Anyway, hopefully they'll be a big ass picture blog soon :)

Yes, I've moved!
Very exciting :)
I love my new house, its very 70s and cute. We have a huuggee living room with brown carpets and a brick archway into a huge kitchen with a wooden table. There is no door on this huge arch... just a massive brown 70s curtain. Its pretty cool. We have lodas of shelves, an art area and lots of instruments (three illustrators and a musician). We even have a tv, which is novel. And above this tv there is a tacky yet wonderful painting of three Hindu Gods- I love it.
I still haven't moved in properly, my room is full of boxes and its a total mess which is annoying. I'm too lazy and I've been busy.. I'd rather be sitting with my housemates, checking out friends places or cooking. But I better get round to it before I disappear off to Portugal on Sunday.
Oh, and my housemates are great. They're always making me food and cups of tea and littering our place with stupid drawings. So far... I'm happy

Yesterday!
I was really worried my leg muscles would still hurt too much after my shoot on Saturday but it was fine! And it was fun!
The other models were all really lovely. The show took place in a private members club alongside some singers and a few burlesque acts.
They laid on a buffet, which I was too busy to have any of except the champagne and haribo, which was all i ate all day except for a mackerel salad at 11am (I love mackerel!!) so by the end I was mega worn out.
Oh and I had a bruised scalp- it hurt much!!! They did these awesome hairstyles were it was all glued to our heads with hair pieces at the front to create these big frizzy styles that ran over one eye and round the head... cute as!
Anyway, it went really well and I should have photos soon :)
I was meant to be shooting tomorrow but I haven['t heard from the photographer... there is nothing I hate more than flaky people that cancel or just dont turn up. I may have lots of other short comings, but Im always prompt and I never cancel shoots. Theres nothing ruder than just not bothering to tell someone the shoot is off. Grrrr!!

Very odd, but so much fun!
I was shooting with a Danish man who was only over for a few days. In advance I as super nervous because he seemed really rude and didnt really chat much during the booking, but when I met him he was very friendly and easy to get on with. Like with many foreign photographers I guess it was just the language gap.. phew!
Anyway, we shot in this really gorgeous old school hotel and did some fetish stuff. It was soooo funny, he was like a proper cliche photographer saying all this [insert danish accent] 'yeah baby, oh baby yeah thats beautiful... shit!!!! yeah...'
It was sooooo hard not to crack up!!
I wore this little latex top and tiny g-string which i was worried about looking vast in, but he shot it really well and I actually look like I have skinny legs.... rad.
So the shoot went like this - I fucked an imaginary man on the floor, up against a wall, on a table, entwined in curtains. I even 'fucked' a lamp... haha! When he was directing me I was thinking 'oh really..?!' but I gotta say it worked. I had a brief look at the shots and theyre unusual but awesome! I'm really gutted because he says he cant send them for two to three weeks- Im impatient and all excited like a little kid, I cant wait that long!!! Arrrghh :(
Now my whole body is achey.

I just got this absolutely stunning girl I know asking me about applying to Godsgirls! I gave her some advice, told her to apply and informed her of the awesomeness of beng a UK godsgirl. A few lovely girls have asked me about it recently and got through- its always soo exciting when they join, especially with the Uk community being so comparitively small... I feel a little bit proud when i know Ive had a hand in making godsgirls that little bit more beautiful, haha
and really, this girl is gorgeous. I really hope she gets through- although I cant imagine she wouldnt. I also hope she gets on in time to attend some of the up coming events such as the tattoo con. The more the better!
Exciting things :)
