The upgrade advisor told me that my laptop is ready for the upgrade.
I am probably going to hold off on buying, only because I have been considering getting a new laptop. If I do that, then I want to wait until after Christmas, because I don't usually spend much on myself near Christmas. I buy lots of cool stuff for my family and friends. 
I "might" just upgrade my current system, but I haven't decided yet. There is nothing wrong with my laptop, but I have had it for about 2 1/2 years, so I always just eventually get that "itch" for newer, better, bigger, faster stuff for my computers!!! 
I am currently configured for 32-bit, but if I upgrade I may just go ahead and do a clean install and start running at 64-bit. Ever since I started installing music, videos, TV shows, and movies on my computer, I had to buy an external hard drive, because movies take up a LOT of space. I keep most of my personal files there now, so backing up the few other files, re-formatting my hard drive and doing a clean install wouldn't be that big of a deal.
I am going to think about it some more. I am not sure which way I want to go yet.  |

<----------- Jealous...I need an upgrade BAD. My comp died about 3 months after I got it. I was in Iraq so I didn't have the option of sending it back and I lost the install disk for windows o.O so I had to get a boot leg from an Iraqi...it runs like shyte.....  |

I can totally agree with that. I learned my lesson though. always put your backups or installs and other valuables in a place that's NOT going to get blown up...you know kind of like my guitar all that's left of it is a melted tuning knob |

It was in English, but it was loaded with viruses and occasionally I'd get an error message in another language (not Arabic or English). But I do have good news and bad news. I just jacked my buddies hard drive from his old computer with Vista business. |

My daddy installed it on my computer for me
I do like it.
Pros:
-shake the window back and forth to clear away all the clutter in background.
-action center makes things simple
-organizing of everything is more streamline with libraries and the new menu/tabbed menu bar
-things loads faster, startup is faster
Cons:
-can't find win7 driver for my fingerprint scanner
-bittorrent did not install properly (but utorrent works, so not really a con)
-is having problems with my battery?
-no driver for my tablet/pen |
