Due to a thyroid condition that has become more of a problem, my eyebrows are thinning and falling out faster than they can grow in, especially the outer edge of the brows.
This has led to sparse, uneven thinning, balding, barely there brows.
They used to be virtually maintenance free, with only occasional tweezing at the strays and never used any brow make-up.
For the past six months, I've started using brow powder with wax, but lately not even that helps. I only wanted them to look filled in. Now I seem to have to literally draw them in. I sometimes screw them up. It's such a tedious process.
My pic here shows me with brow powder heavily done and when they were still pretty much manageable about two months ago.
Unfortunately it's not enough of a problem to be on medication. This was after a few consults with different doctors and endocrinologists. It's only a slight imbalance but enough to screw them up.
Thank goodness my head of hair is still there although ti has also thinned out alot, I've managed to keep that problem under control for now.
Any suggestions on how to help my brows? I've even considered permanent makeup but am very hesitant.
I'm pretty much lost. |

There are stencils you can use to draw in your eyebrows, and they're usually available at drugstores and such. If you want it to look a little natural, use a lighter base coat and then draw on darker hairs over it, giving it a little deeper effect.
Don't ask me how I know this. |

A friend of mine has her eyebrows tattooed because she suffers from alopecia. I call them her "Barbie eyebrows" because they look like they belong on a doll.
Anywho, if you do get them permanently done, get a shape with a low arch because it's rather neutral. You don't want crazy eyebrows when you're an old lady. And get them in a brown shade, never black! I've seen tons of Asian ladies with green/blue eyebrows that were once black. |

before commiting to permanent makeup i would suggest switching up your makeup routine. i used to have a nervous condition that made me pluck out all my eyebow hairs and since then they have not only refused to grow in properly - but in a completely diff shape that makes me hate my face haha
i had the same problem with not being able to fill them in properly no matter what i tried
the biggest problem i had was that at times id rub my face and smear them, or they just never looked natural enough.
for the last year ive been drawing in the shape i want (following the natural brow line i already have) with a dark pencil. then i apply my foundation, add eyebrow wax and lightly dust with a brown shadow that matches my hair. once i put on the rest of my makeup and let it sit for about 20 minutes - i put on my face powder and always go over my eyebrows really well with the brush when im done. they look natural and filled in, and never smear. |

Oh god no I don't want end with the crazy brow look I've seen that. My mom got hers done I was like eeek! it just didn't look right.
I've noticed more and more women doing brown brows and when done right it really does look better than black. I've seen the green faded brows it looks so very bad! |
