POISON THE WELL

interview by grey

Grey: Describe Poison The Well in 3 Words or less or more?

Chris: Loud, noisy, and bombastic.

Grey: What are you guys working on right now?

Chris: Touring in the UK and Europe. We have about five shows left and are totally ready to get the fuck back to the US. It’s been real fun and all the shows have been cool, but nothing beats touring in your own country.

Grey: You keep going to Sweden to record? Why? And what is that like?

Chris: It’s pretty cool, to be honest. I mean once you’re there and working for long periods of time, you sort of get comfortable and forget you’re in a foreign country. The only reason we go is because the dudes who produced the record, Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrom, live there and own the studio where we record. You get a package deal by going there. They do everything in house, which is cool.

Grey: Have you heard of trig.com?

Chris: I have not. Tell me a bit about that. Is that one of those sites where you look at an imagine for a few seconds and then suddenly it flashes to gay porn or something silly that is suppose to scare you?

Grey: Nah, It’s a type of online networking site built by and almost for Swedes. Think myspace with sleeker, tastier design and more natural blonde hair.

Chris: Ahhh, I see.

Grey: You guys separated from your label last year. How do you feel like that has affected your music (good or bad)?

Chris: I feel good about leaving. It was going to happen sooner than later. I don’t think we’re the type of band that would have long-term success by being on a major. We do what we do and are a touring band, not a radio rock band. I feel like our music was able to take the next step we wanted it to take. No label was going to affect how we go about making music in a negative way. I feel as like it actually fueled it in making a cool and different record for us.

Grey: Where do you see Poison The Well in the scope of music in the past couple of years and in the future?

Chris: I don’t know. I can’t be subjective to things like that. I’ve been in this band since I was eighteen; I’m going to be twenty-six soon. All I know is we care about what we do and have had some good luck and cool experiences. We’re going to just keep doing what we’re going to do, make music and touring. What ever is going to happen is going to happen. I’ve learned you can’t control anything, as much as you would you like to.Grey: How do you guys feel about Gods Girls?

Chris: I think it’s a great site for looking at naked, cute girls.

Grey: What is your definition of a Gods Girl?

Chris: A girl taking off her clothes for this site for money? I’m not sure exactly if there is some sort of code that Gods Girls lives by that defines them. Is there?

Grey: Yes, there is. Its not that different from the Girl Scouts, really. What I mean is who is your favorite? (ME MOTHER FUCKER! just kidding... seriously... kidding)

Chris: Oh, word. That’s really sweet. You should sell Gods Girls cookies outside of punk and hardcore shows to help pay for the site. If you had thin mint, girl shaped cookies, I would buy them.

Grey: I don't know if any of us bake.

Chris: I don’t have a favorite. I don’t even really remember any of their names. All I know is when it’s time to look at punk rock, naked bitches; I log in and go to town.

Grey: Pft, what do you mean you cant remember any of our names?! What's mine, asshole?

Chris: “GREY” and come on, seriously, how many dudes remember the girls names. They just remember how they look.
